Comedian Andy Dick May Have Overdosed, Found Unresponsive
News reports have come out that comedian Andy Dick was found unresponsive in California. Seen outside a Hollywood building, people at the scene reportedly rushed to the star’s aid. An update was also later shared in the story.
Andy Dick Was Seen Over Cement Stairs With His Glasses Lying On The Ground In Front Of Him
Dick, born Andrew Thomlinson, has a decade-spanning career as a comedian. Primarily known as a stand-up comedian, he is known for his appearances on roasts and late-night talk shows. In 2001, Dick was the star of his own namesake sketch comedy series, The Andy Dick Show.
As an actor, Dick is known for appearing on NewsRadio and Less than Perfect. He also appeared in the movies, Inspector Gadget, Reality Bites, Road Trip, and Employee of the Month. Reality shows may also remember him from the series, The Assistant, in which he looked for a personal assistant.
According to TMZ, Dick was recently seen slumped over cement stairs outside a Hollywood building this past Tuesday. Seen in broad daylight, his iconic glasses could be seen lying on the ground in front of him. Dick was around 59 at the time of the incident.
Witnesses At The Scene Described Various Methods The Comedian’s Friends Enacted To Help Him
According to eyewitnesses, Andy’s friends were at the scene and tried to revive him. One could be heard screaming at him to “wake up.” Another reportedly called an ambulance. The Los Angeles Police Department were also called to the scene, responding to the same overdose call.
A bystander also reportedly told someone to grab Narcan. The outlet described this as “a life saving medication used to reverse the [effects] of opioid overdoses.” Andy was then administered the shot.
An Update Was Later Shared With The Outlet
As the outlet shared when describing the story, “the troubled comedian suffered an apparent drug overdose on the street.” It was later shared, “It’s no secret Andy’s been dealing with substance abuse for years and has had numerous run ins with the law.”
Andy himself later shared an update with the outlet. The comedian assured that he was alive and said he was doing “okay.” However, he didn’t elaborate on what had happened.

On social media, many fans shared words of concern for the comedian. As one wrote, “I’m praying [you’re] okay… the world we once knew.” Another wrote, “Hollywood is hell… My prayers are with you Andy!!I Hope he survives.”
