Gwen Stefani performed at a special ceremony this week. Fans blasted her for being ‘inappropriate’ at the family-friendly event. Her appearance also further sparked rumors about her marriage to Blake Shelton. Keep reading to see why viewers were so offended.

No Doubt Singer Attends Event Without Blake Shelton Amid Rumors Of Marriage Trouble

Thanksgiving is over, making it officially Christmas season. But for many, it wasn’t officially official until the Rockefeller Center in New York City was lit up. This year, the famous tree is a massive 75-foot Norway spruce from East Greenbush, New York.  A tree is donated each year for the special event.

While the tree went up weeks ago, it was covered in scaffolding until the big Christmas in Rockefeller Center special, which aired on NBC on Wednesday, December 3. The ceremony included musical acts from various genres.

Gwen Stefani was one of the performers. But before taking the stage, she caused whispers. The No Doubt singer walked the red carpet solo, no sign of her husband, Blake Shelton. The couple married in 2021 after dating for nearly five years. Speculation has loomed that they’re living separate lives and on the verge of divorce. Her husband’s absence at such a big event only fueled the rumors.

Gwen Stefani Blasted For Being ‘Inappropriate’ At Special Ceremony

Fans of the No Doubt singer have a lot of thoughts about Gwen Stefani’s change in appearance over the years. She’s gone from ska chic to full-on glam. However, NBC viewers were completely shocked by her “inappropriate” behavior at the Christmas Tree lighting.

Gwen Stefani took the stage multiple times during the event. Other performers included Braid Paisley, Lainey Wilson, and, of course, the iconic Radio City Rockettes. Gwen Stefani opened the show with a performance of her new single, “Shake the Snow Globe.” She also performed “Hot Cocoa” and “You Make It Feel Like Christmas.”

Her performance of “Hot Cocoa” left viewers calling her “inappropriate.” The lyrics are a sweet and wholesome Christmasy love song. But her attire sparked backlash on social media. She wore a short, pink dress that one fan said they could see her “c***h” in the mini-dress.

Another fan slammed her as “disgusting” for wearing an “inappropriate” outfit for the family-friendly television special.

Viewers Not Impressed By Her Other Performances

Her other performances didn’t go over well, either. After an outfit change, Gwen Stefani took the stage in an all-pink ensemble that looked like cotton candy. The comment section on social media lit up with criticism.

Christmas comes late for No Doubt fans. The beloved ’90s band reunites for a handful of shows at the Sphere in Las Vegas in May and June 2026. If you saw Gwen Stefani’s performances, share your thoughts in the comments.

  1. all people want to do is talk and run their mouths about famous people. if you had a life you wouldn’t be putting your nose in other people’s business. she can live her life how ever she wants. would you like people telling you how to live your life. as for her marriage that’s between her and Blake. some people have to go through hard times to see if it’s right to stay married or to leave.

    1. I think she looked amazing! You church ladies can turn the TV off if you don’t like it. So tired of your narrative, trying to control everything. I grew up during the 60s and 70s watching the variety shows, where Bob Mackey dressed Cher every week, and others. It was much racist than a little leg. And we all turned out ok. Your children are seeing it at school before they are seeing it on TV. So back off…Gwen is a great gal.
