A Minnesota couple decided to stage a home only to lure in a real estate agent, only to kill the agent off. So, when did this atrocity take place, and why would they do such a sick and twisted thing? Moreover, what is their punishment for this crime? Keep reading for more details.
Minnesota Couple Stages Home, Murders Real Estate Agent
Staging a home is an essential part of real estate. Moreover, when someone wants to get their house on the market, they need to make an epic presentation. Such was the case with a couple who did so with their Maple Grove, Minnesota, place. In 2019, four people, Lyndon Akeem Wiggins, Elsa Segura, Cedric Berry, and Berry Davis, decided to contact agent Monique Baugh. They then asked her to come over on New Year’s Eve and see their home, likely in the hopes of selling it.

Unfortunately, things took a turn, and Monique was kidnapped and then murdered. Her mother had claimed that she felt something was off the evening that her daughter went missing. However, it is unclear why she had such bad vibes regarding the home and those awaiting Monique. When Monique, 28, at the time, made her way to the house, things became scary. Two males snatched her, put her in a U-Haul, and eventually shot her, leaving her body in an alley. That was where she was later found, and in 2025, Lyndon Akeem Wiggins, 40, was convicted of first-degree murder, amongst other things.
Now, it did not end with Monique’s death as the two men headed to her boyfriend’s Minnesota home in their U-Haul. They then proceeded to shoot him, as well. Fortunately, he made it out alive, but felt that Lyndon Akeem Wiggins was a person of interest. Although he was convicted four years ago of killing Monique, this was overturned until now. Two other people who were a part of this scheme, Cedric Berry and Berry Davis, received life sentences. They are not eligible for parole, while Elsa Segura got twenty years.
Another Try
Despite his sentencing, Lyndon Akeem Wiggins still wants another trial and is in the process of making that happen. It is also unclear what vendetta or issues he had with Monique Baugh’s boyfriend, and if the Minnesota system will grant him grace. Followers of this tragedy want the suspects to pay the ultimate price for what they allegedly did to Monique and with good reason:
- This is heartbreaking. Why was she targeted? I’m so tired of these senseless deaths.
-
What I want to say about these low lives can not be printed on here! ..may God handle them accordingly in the end!!..
- Put him in the cell with bubba and save the court costs!!
