Demands For ‘Wheel Of Fortune’ Big Changes Are Strong
Fans have tuned into Wheel of Fortune for decades. Throughout the years, fans have seen the show go through a number of changes, from networks to studio locations. However, some viewers are asking for more changes for the show in the near future.
Wheel of Fortune Has Often Experimented With A Few Changes Over The Years Already
Wheel of Fortune has run continuously since 1975. Over the years, while the Hangman-inspired show has had some constants, viewers have seen it go through multiple changes.
This includes changes in networks, rounds, and even hosts. Ryan Seacrest notably took over hosting duties from Pat Sajak in 2024. Sajak himself joined the show in 1981, with the show originally hosted by Chuck Woolery. Even the studio location has changed over the years throughout California, from Burbank to Culver City.

That said, taking to social media, fans have suggested that the show could embrace a few more changes. More exactly, fans are asking if a recent change to the show could become a permanent one.
Taking to social media, one fan shared that they enjoyed a new rapid fire Bonus Round meant for DraftKings week. The DraftKings Casino Multiplier Tournament, which appeared on the show from November 24 to 28, had a Bonus Round with $500,000 top prize, unlike the usual $100,000.
This prize could be earned if players landed on a 10x Multiplier Wild Wedge during the main game, solved all the bonus Round puzzles, and landed on a 10x envelope. In addition, two special DraftKings Casino multiplier wedges were added, giving players more of a chance to win than during the standard show.
Many Fans Agreed The Show Needed A Better Reward To Obtain A Bigger Risk
Taking to the comments, a few fans agreed that the change was a good one, helping to encourage players to fight for a big prize. As one fan noted, “The wheel needs more value randomness to it and it’s beyond high time they increased the values to be able to compete prize-wise with other game shows.”
“In all honesty, they ought to be ranging from $500 to $1500 on the first round with top space $2500, $500 – $2000 on the second round with top space $3500, $500 – $3000 with top space $5000… And then $500 – $5000 with top space $10000 for round 4, all with different wheel patterns.”

Some fans took the opportunity to suggest the show could bring back other elements, like the Double Play, the Power Wedge, and the Big Money Wedge. Others suggested a new format for the show entirely. Some comments included:
- “The Prize Puzzle would be blunted, or even in a perfect show, removed and put back on the wheel where it belongs. It unbalances the game and rewards players who play it safe, and essentially decides the game unless somebody goes on a jag or the final spin hits $5k. The game needs to reward risk-taking more instead of encouraging safe play.”
- “If they got rid of the Triple Toss Up, I could see this as a great update, but they couldn’t make the per-puzzle prize $10K, maybe $1K to $5K.”
- “This was a bold experiment. Glad it worked well on its first try!”
