Catamaran Accident In Florida Leaves 3 Dead, 1 Injured
A recent accident involving a catamaran on the Caloosahatchee River in Florida has ended in tragedy. Three people lost their lives during the incident, with one person left in critical condition. Tragedy Struck At A Florida River On November 29, 2025
The Lee County Marine Emergency Response Team took to social media to share photos and updates concerning an incident along the Caloosahatchee River. On November 29, a catamaran overturned, landing four people in the water.
A catamaran is designed with two parallel hulls, allowing greater speed and space. Often, these boats are powered by sails or engines.

On Facebook, the Lee County Marine Emergency Response Team shared, “Sad day on the Coloosahatchee River. Yesterday evening, a catamaran boat flipped and ejected its four passengers. Three victims were removed from the water and only one survived in critical condition.”
The statement continued, “After an extensive search and cooperation with Federal, State, and Local agencies, the fourth person was recovered today.” As a warning to locals, the statement warned, “Please keep boating fun but safe.”
Photos Of The Incident Were Shared By The Lee County Marine Emergency Response Team
The post featured a few photos pertaining to the incident. This included an image of the overturned catamaran, a map of the area, and the search party while in the water.
On social media, someone close to the incident shared their gratitude towards the search party, writing, “I would sincerely like to thank everyone that was involved in this great and successful rescue for these 4 people! Especially the 2 people that rescued our son. He would not be alive today if not for you. God bless you and all those who worked tirelessly to save them. You and all of you will always be in our hearts, prayers and minds for the rest of our and Neal’s Life!”
According to ABC News, the tragedy took place around 4 PM local time near the Cape Coral Yacht Club between Cape Coral and Fort Myers. It was also shared that the 60-year-old victim, who was originally missing, was found dead when retrieved from the river.
The four on the boat were identified as “Rebecca Knight, Brenna Millett, Craig Millett, and Neal Kirby” during Gulf Coast News‘ coverage of the story.
According to Gulf Coast News‘ report, Neal was the victim who was in critical condition. Craig was also identified as the victim who originally went missing. The cause of the boating accident also remains under investigation, as confirmed by the Coast Guard.
