Marjorie Taylor Greene Resigns From Congress Amid Backlash
As one of President Trump’s strongest supporters, it was a shock to see Marjorie Taylor Greene on The View, one of his favorite targets. But in recent months, MTG has spoken out against some of the President’s policies and the rising cost of living.
She never said anything negative about President Trump, but he took major issue with her appearing on The View. The hosts of the ABC daytime show regularly attack his administration. There was even speculation this summer that the show would be canceled for constantly bashing him.
President Trump posted on Truth Social his disappointment in Marjorie Taylor Greene’s talk show appearance. He very publicly withdrew his support, just weeks before her campaign for reelection was to begin.
Seeing the writing on the wall that she would be voted out of Congress, Marjorie Taylor Greene announced that she was resigning from her position as representative of the 14th District of Georgia, which includes Dalton, in the House of Representatives. She leaves office in early 2026.
She May Be New The View Host
Viewers were surprised to see Joy Behar and the other hosts welcome MGT to The View. They may be in for another shock if the politician joins as a co-host. While the ABC show isn’t actively looking for a new host to replace any of the existing hosts, anything can happen. Fans of the show are constantly calling for at least one of the hosts to be fired. Alyssa Farah Griffin is pregnant and will likely take maternity leave in the new year after the baby is born.
Could Marjorie Taylor Greene replace her? An insider with the ABC show spilled surprising details to the Daily Mail about MGT’s appearance on the show this month. “She was actually really lovely behind the scenes — no one expected that. And I know that we had a lot more social media engagement that day,” the source said.
They added that they could “see the vision” if ABC pursued Marjorie Taylor Greene to join as a co-host. “I don’t think it’s in the immediate plans or anything, but she is definitely someone who would be on a shortlist,” the source added.

Marjorie Taylor Greene will be out of a job come January 5, 2026. The View may have gotten a ratings win when she was on the show earlier this month, but many fans were strongly against her as a co-host.
