‘The View’ Fans Are Thrilled The Scheduled Guest Did Not Show
The View has seen a number of guests come and talk with the show’s co-hosts in different segments over the years. That said, there are times when a scheduled guest doesn’t appear. With one recent episode, fans noticed that a scheduled guest didn’t appear, with them sharing their surprising reactions on social media.
Fans Of The View Noticed That Something Was Different During A Recent Episode
The View first came out in 1997, with the show focusing on a panel of female co-hosts discussing various “hot topics” and current events. Over the years, the show has hosted a number of different ladies leading the show.
Currently, the main line-up is made up of Joy Behar, Whoopi Goldberg, Sara Haines, Ana Navarro, and Alyssa Farah Griffin. However, these hosts often share the stage with various other people.
While there have been typical guests who appear to talk with the co-hosts, the show is also known for a periodic presentation called “View Your Deal.” These offer various deals on products aimed at the home audience.
Recently, viewers at home noticed that a recent episode didn’t have much of this, instead focusing primarily on “hot topics.” Taking to social media, a few fans admitted that they preferred things that way.
As one of the fans noted, they like it when the show focuses on current events. They shared, Finally, a day of mostly hot topics! I shut the show off when VYD comes on… but I was so pleased to see the rest of the show was all hot topics today!”
Some Fans Noticed There Was A Special Reason Behind The Change
Taking to the comments, fans pointed out that there was likely another reason for the change. As they explained, “The reason is because Jim Clyburn, the scheduled guest, was unavailable.”
Clyburn is a politician who serves as the U.S. representative for South Carolina’s 6th congressional district. According to the fan, more focus was given to “hot topics” to fill in the time set for his appearance.

As noted by Laughing Place, Clyburn was set to appear during the Monday episode on November 10, 2025, during “The Political View.” It was believed he was set to talk about his book, The First Eight: A Personal History of the Pioneering Black Congressmen Who Shaped a Nation.
Taking to the comments, fans weighed in on the issue. Whether the issue was intended guests or different segments, some agreed that the show is better when focusing on current events. Others appreciated the different aspects of the show. Some comments included:

- “Glad to hear, waiting for the YouTube replay to be released since I don’t have Hulu to watch. Excited to see todays extended hot topics though.”
