Newborn Baby Dumped At NYC’s 34th Street, Parents MIA
A newborn was abandoned on 34th Street in New York City, New York with its parents nowhere to be found. Of course, this is a scary and tragic situation, with authorities wondering why anyone would do this to their child. So, what is NYC doing to fix this situation? Keep reading for more details.
Newborn Abandoned At NYC’s 34th Street
It is always a sad day when a baby is left abandoned by its family, whatever the reason may be. Unfortunately, 34th Street in New York City was the latest location to have a lost baby. On the morning of Monday, October 20th, 2025, Penn Station was likely busy with tourists and those on their way to work. That was when a horrid discovery was made as a baby girl was found placed on the stairs heading southbound. She was between the No. 1, 2 and 3 trains and authorities were informed of her location.
The little one was wrapped in a blanket and fortunately, the weather has not gotten immensely cold in NYC. On October 20th, the high was 67 degrees with the low falling to around 53 degrees. The baby was then taken to Bellevue Hospital to get examined and ensure she was in good health. Despite the conditions that she was found, the newborn was physically unscathed and in good health. Moreover, the fact that she was found by a good samaritan likely saved her life. So, what is next now that she is said to be doing well? It is time to find her parents.
New York City Transit President Demetrius Crichlow has spoken out about the case. With the holidays right around the corner, the baby girl was gifted a very special nickname:
“I’m calling it the ‘Miracle on 34th Street’, maybe just a little earlier, we had an infant that was reported anonymously at the 34th Street station, when the FDNY and police department responded, they found a baby that was unattended.”
Now, it is time to examine the video footage around where the she was located. That was the authorities can hopefully identify who did this and understand why.
A Happy Ending
Despite how this newborn was found and the circumstances, followers of this NYC story are feeling grateful. They are appreciative that someone saw her and that she has a clean bill of health. Yes, what happened to her was horrible, but this could have been far worse. Many chimed in with their thoughts after seeing what had gone down:
- So very grateful the baby was found safe ! ! ! Shame on the mother ! ! !
Some did wonder if it was the baby’s parents who led the police to her after they made the drop:
- Much as I hate that the baby was left in not the greatest place it was probably the parent that tipped off police.
- Maybe there are some who don’t know ab the safe haven law.
There are places that welcome babies, so this did not have to happen. Hopefully, whoever did this is found and faces the consequences.
