Kylie Jenner No Longer Has Billionaire Status
Forbes magazine received a lot of backlash when they put Kylie Jenner on the cover in 2019 and declared her the youngest “self-made” billionaire. Many people pointed out that she grew up in Los Angeles, California, with her famous parents, Kris and Caitlyn Jenner.
In November 2019, Kylie Jenner sold 51% of her Kylie Cosmetics company for a reported 1.2 billion dollars. She first launched the company in 2015, offering lip liners and lipstick kits. The company expanded to offer more cosmetic products. Her fame rose with the expansion.
But it all started to come crashing down in 2020. In a shocking backtrack, Forbes wrote a scathing article that called Kylie Jenner and her team out for misrepresenting her wealth. The outlet speculated that Kylie Jenner’s tax filings for the company were exaggerated, among other things.
Kylie Jenner and the entire Kardashian family denied the allegations.
She Lost 8 Million Followers
At the height of her fame, Kylie Jenner had about 400 million followers on social media. Right now she has 392 million followers. That means she’s lost eight million and counting. Most of her content consists of glam photos, promotional for Kylie Cosmetics, or pictures that highlight her figure.
Some fans think she got new boobs to impress her boyfriend, Timothée Chalamet. She’s been dating the actor since 2023. Before that, she dated rapper Travis Scott, with whom she shares two children: Stormi, 7, and Aire, 3.
Her family’s television show, Keeping Up With The Kardashians, was canceled at the E! Network in 2021 after twenty seasons. Hulu’s Kardashians show premiered the next year. Season 7 on October 23.
With her beauty company in decline, Kylie Jenner is reportedly thinking about giving acting a try.
Fans Weigh In With Why
The Kardashian/Jenner clan isn’t as popular as they used to be. One former fan took to social media to share their thoughts on why Kylie Jenner lost eight million followers.
“Firstly, she is not young anymore, so if she tried to act the same way as before it would be seen as trashy and immature,” they said about her former rebellious teenager image.
They added, “No one our age is really thinking about G-Wagons, fame, and mansions anymore. That lifestyle was just the teenage dream and we can come to terms with reality now.”
“She’s not reaching the younger generation because no one born past 2004 wants to follow a ghetto baby mama.” the former fan vented.
Other former fans agreed that Kylie Jenner and her family are moving towards irrelevancy.
