‘DWTS’ Contestant Forced To Skip Practice, Asks For Prayers
Competing on DWTS is more than just learning a few dance moves. The contestants spend up to twelve hours a day in the Los Angeles, California, rehearsal studios to get the dances down. But the work doesn’t stop there. Hours before the show goes live on ABC, the contestants and their partners take the dance floor for camera blocking.
But one Season 34 contestant hasn’t been able to practice at all and asked for prayers to help them through the routine. Keep reading to find out what’s going on.
Emotional Week On ABC Dance Competition
After four weeks of fun, light-hearted dances, things are about to get serious on DWTS. The episode airing Tuesday, October 14, is Dedication Night. The night is a favorite with fans but really hard on the contestants. They each dedicate their dances to someone special in their lives.
Australian conservationist Robert Irwin is dedicating his dance to his mom, Terri Irwin. Boy Meets World actress Danielle Fishel’s dance is for her former co-star, William Daniels. He played the beloved teacher Mr. Feeny on the ABC sitcom. The 98-year-old will be in the audience during the special moment.
DWTS Contestant Forced To Skip Practice
Danielle Fishel was advised to drop out of the competition after suffering a serious injury. She’s still in it, but this week might be the last for another Season 34 contestant. DWTS takes a huge physical and emotional toll on the celebrities.
Secret Lives of Mormon Wives star Jen Affleck was already feeling the emotional toll. Now her body is shutting down on her. She’s been too sick to practice at all this week. Her husband shared the news on social media.
“This week she has been so sick she hasn’t been able to practice, and has been stuck in best most of the week,” Zac Affleck wrote on TikTok.
The mom of three is supposed to perform a Viennese Waltz with Jan Ravnik in honor of her mother, Maria. Her DWTS partner is among the pros reportedly on the chopping block after this season.
Her Husband Asks For Prayers
Jen Affleck’s husband made a TikTok video with a prayer request for her. He revealed that her mom has been helping out around the house while Jen has been sick all week.
He asked fans to send their well-wishes and prayers to Jen in DM. He plans to print them out and put them in her DWTS dressing room. So, it sounds like she is going to try to take the dance floor despite her illness. But what if she can’t?
If she can’t perform at all, she’ll likely be the next to go home. However, Cody Rigsby and his professional partner, Cheryl Burke, were unable to perform at the live show in 2021 due to COVID. They were scored based on rehearsal footage.
