KISS Rocker Gene Simmons Goes Unconscious, Crashes Into Car, Rushed To Hospital
Musician and KISS rocker Gene Simmons was recently taken to the hospital. This reportedly took place after a car crash in Malibu, California. The star had lost consciousness at one point during the recent incident. Notably, this also takes place just before KISS is set to perform at an upcoming milestone event.
A Witness At The Scene In Malibu Was Able To Contact First Responders
Music fans know Gene Simmons, born Chaim Witz, as the bassist and co-lead singer of KISS. As part of the band, he is known for his stage persona, “The Demon.”
In addition to his work as a musician, Simmons is also something of a television personality. From 2006 to 2012, he and his family were the subject of the reality series, Gene Simmons Family Jewels.

According to NBC Los Angeles, Simmons was recently taken to an emergency room after crashing into a parked car on Pacific Coast Highway in Malibu, California. Reports claimed that he had lost consciousness at one point during the incident.
The crash is said to have taken place on Tuesday afternoon, just before 1 PM local time. A witness at the scene called 911. Emergency personnel and firefighters soon arrived at the scene.
Simmons was able to speak with personnel. He explained that he either passed out or fainted before hitting the parked car.
Gene Simmons’ Wife Shannon Tweed Also Shared A Few Updates
While Simmons was initially hospitalized, he has since been checked out. According to the outlet, Gene’s wife Shannon Tweed confirmed that he has since returned home and is recovering.
According to Tweed, Gene’s doctors recently changed his medications. This has also required him to drink more water, which she noted he was not a fan of. She also claimed that his SUV “careened across several lanes of traffic in the crash and that he passed out.” Gene himself also later shared a voicemail with the outlet, claiming that he was doing fine since the incident.

As noted by People, the incident takes place just before KISS is set to perform together for the first time since retiring from touring in 2023. The band will reunite in Las Vegas this November for the KISS Army Storms Vegas event. This will also celebrate the band’s 50th anniversary.
The event will take place from November 14 to 16. It will feature an “unmasked” Simmons, Paul Stanley, and Tommy Thayer, as well as other special guests. A press release shared that there will be “exclusive Q&A sessions with members of the band, a panel with longtime manager Doc McGhee, a special live performance from former KISS member Bruce Kulick, along with sets from KISS tribute bands, other special guests, interactive activities, exclusive experiences and more.” Other events include KISS-themed kareoke, trivia, meets-and-greets, and a look-a-like contest.
