Nashville Skydiving Instructor, 35, Falls Out Of Plane With No Parachute
When you skydive for a living as a skydiving instructor, regularly jumping out of planes at high altitude is just another day at the office. Unfortunately for one Nashville, Tennessee skydiving instructor, they recently plunged to their death in a freak accident. So, what happened?
People Regularly Skydive To Get Their Adrenaline Fix
For a lot of people, jumping out of planes and going skydiving is something on their bucket list. It defies the laws of nature and makes a potential brush with death very real. According to the United States Parachute Association (USPA), roughly 3-4 million skydives are performed each year in America.
This is quite a high number, as many people cross this off of their bucket lists. While this is a story to tell for a lot of people, not all of them have a happy ending. A 35-year-old skydiving instructor tragically found this out recently, as not everyone comes out of these death-defying jumps alive.

35-Year-Old Skydiving Instructor Plunges To His Death
According to PEOPLE, “A 35-year-old skydiving instructor from Nashville has died after becoming “separated at the plane” from his “tandem rig,” leaving him to fall “from the sky without a parachute,” according to a statement from the Metro Nashville Police Department (MNPD).”
This happened during a tandem jump in Nashville, Tennessee. A police helicopter later found the instructor dead after falling from the sky without a parachute on October 4. There was a second skydiver with whom the deceased instructor jumped with who survived the incident, and this other jumper was rescued from a tree.
Metro Nashville PD released a statement on X, writing, “Fire Dept rescuers have just brought down a skydiver who was lodged in a tree with an open parachute in the woods in the 4500 block of Ashland City Highway. He will be ok. This skydiver became separated at the plane from a tandem rig with an instructor. The instructor is presumed to have fallen from the sky without a parachute.”

At first, the instructor had not been found. However, the instructor was later found and confirmed dead. The other skydiver was rescued safely after being found lodged in a tree. This other skydiver was sent to the hospital as a precaution, as they had been suspended in the tree “for hours.” Luckily for this other skydiver who survived, the emergency parachute deployed.
