Pennsylvania School Bus Driver Loses It, Threatens To Literally ‘Cook The Children’
A bus driver in Pennsylvania is facing criminal charges. According to reports, they had made dangerous threats against the kids they were escorting. According to local parents, they became aware of the issue after noticing something unusual about their children. Local police have also shared more information about the situation on social media.
A 75-Year-Old Bus Driver Reportedly Carried Out A Threat After Telling Children To Close The Windows
On September 17, 2025, the Sugarcreek Borough Police Department received multiple reports from local parents in the area. They noted that their children came home from school crying and noticeably sweaty.
The children had reportedly claimed that they had been punished by their bus driver on the way home from school. The driver was identified as Harvey Sliker, a 75-year-old from Utica.

According to the children, Sliker told them to close their windows. After doing so, he allegedly said to them, “I am going to cook you all.”
He then reportedly turned up the bus heater on full blast. According to authorities, information showed that, “While the bus windows are up, and the heater is on full blast along with the outside temperature, the cabin of the bus can reach temperatures of 95-100 degrees.” Meanwhile, at the time of the incident, it was 74 degrees outside.
Many Locals, Including Parents, Discussed The Issue On Social Media
This wasn’t the only threat Sliker made towards the children. He also threatened to bring a paddle the following day. As police noted, “These actions and statements placed multiple children from the ages [of] 5- 12 years old in fear of serious bodily injury.”
The police department worked with Valley Grove Elementary School during their investigation. Since then, charges have been filed against Sliker. These include misdemeanors of “simple assault” and “recklessly endangering another person.” For the time being, “The defendant has been advised of a no trespass letter concerning any school property or functions where school activities occur.”
On social media, there was some speculation over why the defendant wasn’t facing charges against each child. Other commenters showed concern for children, with some claiming the children of their family were impacted. Some comments included:
- “If [a] bus driver ever did that to my kids. I’d be the one with those charges.”
- “How is it singular charges and not charges per child?”
- “I would like to know WHAT BUS this is. My child came home yesterday HOTTTTT AND SWEATY BAD. Both of my son’s drivers are old men.”
- “So those are charges pressed by the school. Each child’s parent should go ahead and press charges against him as well! Two singular charges from only the school do not justify.”
- “Thank you, Sugarcreek Borough Police Department for keeping my kiddos safe!“
