Bunnie XO Responds To Criticism Over Parenting Stepdaughter
Bunnie XO and her husband, country singer Jelly Roll, are still in the process of having a baby of their own. In the meantime, she’s the stepmother to the two kids he had before they got together. She recently came under fire from a fan who took issue with how she parents Jelly Roll’s daughter. See how Bunnie XO responded to the criticism.
Jelly Roll Has Two Kids From Previous Relationships
Bunnie XO is the love of Jelly Roll’s life, but he lived an entire other life before they met. The singer, whose real name is Jason DeFord, has been open about being in and out of prison in his younger years. He met Bunnie XO (real name: Alyssa DeFord) in Las Vegas in 2015 when he performed at the Las Vegas Country Saloon. They were strictly friends at first because she had a boyfriend.
Their friendship quickly turned into romance, and they married a year later. Bunnie XO has seen her husband through his rise to country superstardom and encouraged his huge weight loss journey.
But most of all, she’s taken on the role of stepmother to his two children from previous relationships. Jelly Roll has a daughter and a son. He shares custody of his son, Noah, with his ex. He and Bunnie XO have had full custody of his daughter, Bailee, since 2017. Her mother is an addict and not really around.
Bunnie XO Responds To Criticism Over Parenting Stepdaughter
Jelly Roll’s daughter is 16 and acts like any teenager. Last year, Bunnie XO shared hilarious footage of the young girl sneaking out of the family’s home in Tennessee. She joked that her stepdaughter was grounded for life after the incident.

But the grounding didn’t stick. Bunnie XO recently helped Bailee get ready for Senior Homecoming. “BRB- crying – and dealing with early Empty Nest syndrome,” Jelly Roll wrote in the comments.
Bailee often accompanies her famous dad on tour. He recently toured Europe for the first time. Bunnie XO used footage of her stepdaughter walking beside her backstage to clap back at a TikTok user’s criticism of her relationship with Bailee.
“She’s your stepdaughter. Remember that,” the internet user wrote. Bunnie XO agreed. She responded, “You’re right – I’m NOT her mom & would never want to be. Her mom isn’t a mom.”
Bunnie XO added, “I fiercely protect this little girl, I teach her how to be a woman, I have always picked up the pieces of her broken heart alongside her dad, every time her real mom shatters her heart.”
She clarified that it’s her stepdaughter’s choice to call her “Mom.” She explained, “Bailey calls me mom by choice.. I never asked her to call me that.”

Bunnie XO’s fans were shocked by the person telling her that she’s not Bailee’s real mom. One fan wrote, “How rude are people!”
Another added, “Bailee is so very lucky to have you Bunnie you are her mama & a really really good one.”
As Bunnie XO said wrote on the video, no one knows everything about her relationship with her stepdaughter.
