The View has been running for decades, but fans are starting to worry that something might soon bring it to its end. Fans think they might know one thing that could save it. This also comes out amid news concerning another talk show’s fate.

The View Became A Recent Topic Of Discussion On Another Talk Show

The View first came out in August 1997. On the series, a number of all-female co-hosts discuss current events and “hot topic” issues while sitting together at their iconic table.

Many co-hosts have been part of the show over the years. Currently, the line-up is made up of Joy Behar, Whoopi Goldberg, Sunny Hostin, Sara Haines, Ana Navarro, and Alyssa Farah Griffin. In 2021, the series also launched a podcast, “Behind the Table.”

However, on social media, some fans have grown concerned that they might soon see the end of the show. As one fan wrote, “I know that this isn’t going to be popular with The View‘s loyal audience, but how else can the show continue discussing politics in this current political climate without someone of an opposing political persuasion?”

The fan highlighted that they thought, “A right-leaning cohost might be The View’s only ticket to survival in this current political climate.” The continued, “The future is looking shaky for this show in its current form, so I think one or two cast changes may be their compromise to stay on the air.”

However, the fan also suggested an alternate idea: focusing more on light entertainment fare. They shared the felt the show previously went down this route during the “Jenny McCarthy era.” However, they were unsure if this was what fans wanted.

Notably, this comes out after The View became a topic of discussion concerning the fate of another talk show. On a recent episode of Real Time With Bill Maher, Maher discussed Jimmy Kimmel’s suspension from Jimmy Kimmel Live! after making comments concerning the recent fatal shooting of Charlie Kirk.

Some Fans Think That The Show Needs A Change, Others Worry This Could Backfire

During the episode, Maher felt that The View was silent about Kimmel’s show. He shared, “I’m friendly with the ladies on The View, but they didn’t say anything about this, this week. Nothing.”

Maher sarcastically added, “You know, because it’s never been their thing to weigh in on the issues.” He then told them, “Girls, go out strong, OK? It won’t kill you, I promise.”

With the fan’s recent comments, other commenters weighed in on the issue. Some felt that some of the hosts already filled this role, while others feel they play to the other hosts more often.

Others felt that this would be going against the audience The View has built up over the years. Some comments included:

  • “Does Alyssa Farah not exist in your world?”
  • “Alyssa is pleasant but she hasn’t really done a thing to combat the right’s perception that The View is anything but a liberal show.”
  • “Either let the cohosts speak uncensored or don’t have the show tbh.”
  • “That would tank their ratings.”
  • “It doesn’t matter who’s a host of The View, if they can’t give their honest opinions. The whole concept of this show is null and void.”

What is your view on this discussion? Do you think The View could use a new co-host? What changes, if any, would you bring to the show? Make sure you come back to TV Shows Ace for all the latest TV and celebrity news.
