Season 20 of America’s Got Talent has struggled with ratings. Viewership is down to 5.9 million views per episode. In comparison, AGT used to get an average of over 10 million views per episode. In addition, fans feel like there are no differences in the acts. There have been major complaints that the show is focusing too much on singers, is predictable, and lacks variety.

Fans are also not happy with the format changes that have taken place. The latest season of AGT removed the Judges’ Cut round, and fans are upset. Fans are saying that this round helped weed out weaker acts before the live shows and added tension. In addition, fans also feel that certain decision-making moments (like when judges reverse or change their votes) are confusing or feel forced this season.

Fans Are Done With America’s Got Talent

There have been complaints about the judge’s behavior as well. Many fans do not like the addition of Mel B. and say she is too negative, harsh, and does not give enough praise to the performers. In addition, many fans are calling for the return of Heidi Klum. Fans have taken to social media to share their thoughts on Season 20 of America’s Got Talent. They said:

  • “I’m done with AGT after next week. The talent has become repetitive and worse. Judge cuts is gone and it makes golden buzzers and auditions feel worth noting.”
  • “The show has just become s****y choirs s****y singers and the occasional underwhelming acrobatic/dance performers and the REAL talent never even wins so what’s the point lol”
  • “Mel B as a judge is always so irritating. She’s always confused or doesn’t get the most straightforward acts and then goes crazy for acts that are mid. Her presence alone is keeping me from enjoying this season.”
  • “This show has gotten overproduced, dramatic, sappy, and extremely disappointing. So predictable and when it’s not it’s extremely questionable.”

Fans are frustrated with the format changes, the judges, and the lack of variety in talent on America’s Got Talent. NBC and show producers need to listen to their audience if they expect to keep the show running. Competitors such as The Voice and American Idol are going to steal viewers if production does not make some changes soon. Fans are stating they are no longer going to watch the talent competition as it is.
