‘Y&R’ Is This The End For Victor Newman?
Victor Newman has had many roles on The Young and the Restless, being a villain, a lead, and ultimately becoming part of the show’s heart and soul. However, recently, fans have grown concerned that they’ve seen the last of Victor in Genoa City. This also comes out as fans looked back at recent news stories concerning his actor, Eric Braeden.
Victor Newman Has Been Part Of The Young And The Restless For Decades
Eric Braeden first brought Victor Newman to life in 1980 when he joined The Young and the Restless. The character was originally intended to be a short-lived antagonist, lasting only around a few months.
However, Victor has since gone on to be one of the soap’s most prominent characters, with Braeden remaining a regular cast member for over 40 years. In addition, the character has had multiple romances, as well as children and grandchildren, developing a family on the soap.
One of Victor’s most enduring love stories for fans is that with Nikki. Recently on the soap, Nikki surprised Victor with a romantic dinner. The moment allowed the characters to reminisce on their past together. The touching moment soon gave way to a slow dance.
However, these sentimental moments have gotten fans worried. On social media, some fans suspect this could be the soap’s way of giving the character an emotional send-off.
Some Fans Suspect That Something Is Being Planned For Victor, Even If He Isn’t Leaving The Soap
As one fan shared on social media, “Ohh I feel Victor is going,” adding, “I feel it in me waters.” Another fan pointed out this could make sense, as Eric Braeden has gone through a lot over the past year.
As the fan noted, “The last few years have been rough on EB and all his neighbors. Rebuilding is a long road, mentally, physically, psychologically and emotionally.
The post continued, “And he is aging, which makes things much harder as you physically decline. And in some cases, for some people, mentally decline.” Another fan also noted, “He had just gone through cancer treatment before the fires.”
As previously reported, Eric Braeden has been the subject of a few retirement rumors over the years. However, fans will have to stay tuned into the soap to see what happens next.
