In their personal lives, Erin and Ben met while attending junior college and married in 2008. They have since gone on to have two daughters together, Helen and Mae.

As summer comes to an end, Erin recently took to Instagram to bemoan the change in seasons. In particular, she disliked how she won’t be spending as much time with her children now that school is starting.
Back in July, Erin wrote, “How do we stop the clock so school never starts back? Anyone else soaking up this time with your kids like raisin bran in whole milk?”
In the comments, a few fans shared that they had some positive experiences with homeschooling. As one fan wrote, “I homeschooled mine from 4th grade until she left for college. Loved having all that added time together.”
Comments didn’t just come from people who homeschooled their kids, but former homeschooled students themselves. As another fan wrote, “My mom pulled me out of public school in 4th. Grade & Homeschooled me as well!. I loved it. So many sweet memories. I received my diploma in the mail, then I earned a Certificate online from the US Career Institute.”
Erin recently took to social media to reveal she took these comments to heart. On September 1, in a now deleted post, she shared that she was now planning to homeschool Helen and Mae going forward.
According to EntertainmentNow, Erin shared that she had been interested in homeschooling for children for a while now. In a since-deleted post, she previously shared, “Homeschool was our dream from the day Helen was born, but work was busy, then Mae was born and we just kept saying ‘someday we will.’”

- “Susan Wise Bauer was so helpful when it first came out and I was homeschooling my girls! I would do it all over again (16yrs) and they both graduated from college!”
- “Happy birthday! Also, that Well-Trained Mind book was my gateway to homeschooling. I was never able to put my son in public school after learning what I learned from that and Last Child in the Woods. He’s a senior now!”
