One of Dog the Bounty Hunter’s sons, who works as a police officer, was recently placed on leave. This came out after he was involved in a chase that claimed the life of a teen. Some fans on social media noted they remembered watching the son on Dog’s shows, as more information surrounding the case has come to light.
Duane ‘Dog The Bounty Hunter’ Chapman Is Noted To Have 13 Children
Duane Chapman, also known as Dog the Bounty Hunter, first gained worldwide fame after the capture on Andrew Luster in 2004. Afterwards, he got his own reality series, Dog the Bounty Hunter.
This A&E series originally ran from 2004 to 2012. After this, he was featured on Dog and Beth: On the Hunt, alongside his late wife Beth Chapman, and Dog’s Most Wanted.

Over the years, Dog became known for his various marriages, which led to thirteen children. Recently, one of his sons, a police officer, Garry Chapman, made headlines after getting involved with a deadly high-speed chase.
Reportedly, Garry was involved in a chase on September 6. A 17-year-old, Tristan Hollis, lost his life in the incident. Six people were also said to be taken to the hospital due to the chase. At this time, the other victims’ conditions have not been shared.
According to Hatselle PD, the Priceville Police Department was involved in a vehicle pursuit on Saturday. A suspect “entered an intersection and collided with another car.” The suspect had also reportedly been taken into police custody.
According to TMZ, Priceville Mayor Sam Heflin confirmed that Garry had been placed on administrative leave with pay pending the outcome of an investigation. At the time, it was noted that this was the standard procedure for cases like this. At the time, the mayor did not confirm that the Garry involved was Duane Chapman’s son.
More Information Has Also Been Revealed About The Suspect
On social media, WHNT News anchor Ben Hoover reported that Garry was Dog the Bounty Hunter’s son. The driver the police were trying to pull over was also identified as Archie Hale.
Hale was said to still be in the hospital and has not yet been charged. The outlet also shared a few past criminal charges and arrests against Hale. This included charges of attempting to “elude police in 2008, 2009, 2013, 2020.”
Hale was also “arrested in 2020 for reckless endangerment, resisting arrest.” It was also shared that he was arrested on a probation violation in 2023, but was released the following year.
On social media, some fans noted that they remembered watching Garry on his father’s shows. In particular, one fan noted an “episode where Dog the Bounty Hunter took Garry boy into the woods to track down Santa in the snow just to teach him to have faith even if you can’t see it.”
