It has not been easy for former Bachelorette star Kaitlyn Bristowe. She has had two very public failed relationships ever since she burst onto the scene. Kaitlyn was engaged to Shawn Booth for three years and then moved on with Jason Tartick. They became engaged in 2021, but that came to a screeching halt in 2023. That was immensely difficult, but she has great friends and a hit podcast, so things ended up working out. Furthermore, Kaitlyn took home the trophy in 2020 during Season 29 of DWTS, so she has become a fan favorite and gained a whole new following.
Sadly, her luck has changed as she revealed that her stepfather, Rob, was sick. Nearly a year ago, she had come on social media to beg for prayers. Kaitlyn stated that she never said what she needed them for, but he had cancer and was getting it removed. It looked like he was in the clear and was healing, but then tragedy struck. Kaitlyn detailed that Rob went for a follow up and it revealed that the cancer was now in his stomach. Furthermore, it was stage 4 and incurable, which was a twist that no one expected. As of now, Kaitlyn is optimistic that he will live longer than the doctors predict.

However, that is only because The Bachelorette alum knows her stepdad and how strong-willed he is. She has also been savoring the time that she has with Rob by eating and playing cards, all things that fill her soul. Of course, she and her family are broken by this news, but they are not wasting any time. They will not take whatever he has left for granted, and it has become a huge life lesson.
