Big Changes At CBS Brings In Impressive New Boss, What’s Going On?
Audiences have seen multiple changes happen at CBS in recent months. Recently, a new boss has been announced for the network. The figure already comes with a notable resume.
New Executive Producer Is Coming To CBS Evening News
CBS Evening News has had quite a few changes over the past year. John Dickerson and Maurice DuBois became anchors for the series earlier this year. Viewers have also noted a bigger emphasis on correspondent storytelling as well as a focus on breaking news.
A new boss has been announced as an executive producer of CBS Evening News. She will notably serve as the second woman to lead the broadcast.

Deadline has reported that Kim Harvey will serve as CBS Evening News’ newest executive producer. She has previously served as the broadcast’s senior broadcast producer. She first joined CBS in 2017, previously working with MSNBC, Fox News and CNN. In fact, she previously won an Emmy for her work with MSNBC’s All in With Chris Hayes.
During her time, Harvey has built up experience working with live and broadcast news. This includes coverage of the recent flood in Texas, the funeral of Pope Francis, and the attempted assassination of Donald Trump. Harvey has previously produced for anchors Dickerson and DuBois. She has also worked with Norah O’Donnell and Jeff Glor.
Big Changes Are Expected For CBS Amid The Paramount-Skydance Merger
CBS News president and executive editor Tom Cibrowski shared in a statement, “Kim brings a sharp news sense and terrific track record of producing from across the broadcast and cable networks. She is a well-respected newsroom leader and her relationships with our on-air talent, producers and reporters run deep.”
Harvey herself also shared a statement over the news, “I have great respect and admiration for those who steered this broadcast before me, and I am grateful to Tom and the team for their support. I look forward to leading our incredible group of journalists as we deliver the latest news, original reporting and memorable stories to our audience every night.”

As noted by the publication, the broadcast appears to have been shaking things up to address lackluster ratings. Further disruptions are also expected with the upcoming Paramount-Skydance merger. This includes a possible round of budget cuts this upcoming fall.
Other changes have come to other aspects of the network’s programming. As previously reported, CBS’ long-running game show, The Price is Right, recently announced John Quinn as a new showrunner.
