Foreign Trucker Kills 3 In Head-On Collision In Nevada, Video
Based on clips that have been circulating online and garnering a lot of attention, another foreign truck driver went head-on in Nevada on August 23rd, 2025. This is yet another tragedy in the wake of last June 2024’s tragic killing of 3 people by driver Claude Rafiki from Africa, who also killed three people in a head-on collision in Nevada, and the incident is stirring up a lot of discussion on topics like immigration and more in the wake of this tragedy. So, what else do we know about this situation, and what are people saying?
Foreigner Driving Truck Kills Three People In Nevada
With the current state of American politics, one hot topic that regularly makes the rounds is immigration and various immigration policies. With things like ICE raids and people speculating that Trump’s policies are reducing the migrant workforce in America, the president has a lot of opponents when it comes to his immigration policies and practices.
Keeping that in mind, however, what happens when a foreign worker is the cause of several deaths? This was exactly the case when a foreigner driving a truck in Nevada ended up killing multiple people in a head-on collision last June 2024, and also recently on August 23rd, 2025, another foreign truck driver passed in a no-passing lane, hitting a truck with 3 people head-on, killing them.

A bystander captured the tragic accident on Nevada on Highway I-95 on August 23rd. Similar to the June 2024 incident, the trucker was a foreign truck driver passing another driver illegally, and he collided head-on into a pickup truck in a no-passing zone, killing 3 people inside; the foreign truck driver survived. In fact, many people are pointing to incidents like this as reason enough for stricter immigration policies. Claude Rafiki, a man from Africa, eventually pleaded guilty to three counts of reckless driving, which resulted in these tragic deaths. The crash killed Owen Hart (22), Athena Taylor (21), and Jeremy Gebo (44).
Rafiki drove on the wrong side of the road for nearly 30 seconds, with prosecutors describing his truck as a “nuclear bomb on the road.” Rafiki agreed to a plea deal consisting of 4 to 10 years in prison plus a $6k fine.
Fatal Incident Inspiring Public Outrage
While Rafiki is technically a US citizen, footage of the 2024 incident has been gaining a lot of traction online, and with it, it is inspiring public outrage, with many calling for stricter immigration policies to prevent tragedies such as this from happening again, as well as stricter policies when it comes to who can obtain things like CDL licenses.

- A second commenter added, “This is what happened when they go to the DMV and they have an interpreter because it can’t read the language or understand it for that matter. Then we give him a driver’s license. Now how stupid is that.”
- Another commenter wrote, “I’ve been driving for almost 30 years and people would be shocked if they knew how many drivers like him are out here on the roads.”

If Mr. Rafiki is an American citizen, why does he not speak English? He should be bilingual. American road signs are in English! How on earth would he be safe to drive if he cannot read the road signs. The people in Michigan should be liable as well for this tragedy.
which is why I have also been against driving tests being given in any language but English. If you can’t read or speak English how can you read any street signs or directions?? Also how can you respond to or know what an officer is saying to you??
