Brandon Blackstock, ex-husband and former manager of American Idol alum Kelly Clarkson, passed away earlier this month at the age of 48. Recently, he was celebrated with a special celebration of life ceremony. An inside source also recently discussed the event. It was even shared that Blackstock was honored in a place that was very special to him.

Brandon Blackstock Passed Away At The Age Of 48 After Battling Cancer

Blackstock was married to singer Kelly Clarkson from 2013 to 2022. Tragically, news had come out earlier this month that Blackstock had passed away at the age of 48 after battling malignant melanoma.

Blackstock had worked as Clarkson’s manager, in addition to managing country singer Blake Shelton. In his personal life, Blackstock shared two children with Clarkson, River and Remington, in addition to two children from a previous marriage, Savannah and Seth.

Blackstock was also a grandfather through his daughter, Savannah. He was also a former stepson of country music legend Reba McEntire.

Shortly before news of his passing was confirmed, Clarkson took to social media to share that she would postpone some of her Las Vegas residency shows. At the time, she shared that a family emergency impacted the father of her children.

Following his passing, Us Weekly had shared news about a “special” celebration of life in his honor. As an inside source shared, “Brandon’s closest friends and family gathered over the weekend for a few days to celebrate his life in the place he loved most. It was very private.”

It was noted that “his partner, Brittney [Marie Jones], his family and his closest friends” were in attendance. While noted to have been a sad occasion, the source shared, “There were also a lot of laughs remembering Brandon’s pranks and sense of humor.”

A Source Previously Talked About Blackstock’s Life During His Final Years

The event took place in Montana at Blackstock’s home. As the source shared, “It was special for everyone to spend time in Montana walking and hiking the roads Brandon loved so much, and to gather at his home to remember him.”

A source previously spoke with the publication about Blackstock’s fondness for the area. As it shared, “Brandon lived a pretty quiet life in Montana. That was how he liked it. Even though he worked in entertainment in the past, that was not his personality. He was at home in Montana.”

Blackstock purchased the $1.8 million home in Butte, Montana, a month after his divorce from Clarkson was finalized. According to People, Blackstock was listed as a rodeo producer in the rodeo industry during his final years. The publication also shared that he had been cremated, not buried.
