Things Were Already Rocky For Kelly Clarkson Before Ex-Husband’s Death
Even before the death of Kelly Clarkson’s ex-husband, Brandon Blackstock, things were already rocky for the American Idol winner and talk show host. There has been a lot of concern over the possibility of her talk show getting cancelled, and she even cancelled the first two shows of her new Las Vegas residency without telling her crew.
There have even been instances where Kelly lamented the fact that she doesn’t play live as much as she used to, and she threw her talk show crew under the bus as one of the big reasons behind this. So, even before the tragic death of her ex-husband and the father of her children, things were already rough for Clarkson.
Many Mourn Brandon Blackstock’s Passing, Including Clarkson
Understandably, things have been on pause for Kelly Clarkson since this tragic death, and the way insiders tell it, this loss is taking a major toll on Clarkson.
Brandon Blackstock passed away at 48. He battled melanoma and dealt with seizures. Blackstock’s rep spoke out after his passing, saying, “It is with great sadness that we share the news that Brandon Blackstock has passed away.”
The rep continued, adding, “Brandon bravely battled cancer for more than three years. He passed away peacefully and was surrounded by family.”
Is Kelly Clarkson’s Career Over?
Insiders are speaking out about how much the death of Brandon Blackstock is affecting Kelly Clarkson, saying that she has been “shattered” since the tragedy. Many of those closest to her are encouraging her to put her career on hold as she mourns this loss. However, does this mean that her career is over for good?
An insider recently dished on the current situation, saying, “Kelly’s absolutely shattered and in no place to be performing on stage or hosting her show. That may change soon — it’s a day-by-day situation.”
The recent insider continued, adding, “But what’s more important than anything else to her right now is protecting and nurturing her kids, who of course are in pieces over losing their dad. Kelly is pouring the small amount of energy she has into looking after them.”
The insider also dished on Clarkson’s relationship with Blackstock toward the end, saying, “She’d spent the last few months flying back and forth to Montana where he lived. They sure had their differences and coparenting was a struggle, but she loved him once upon a time.”
The insider piled on, saying, “She’s asking her TV bosses and concert organizers for as much time as they can spare her. It’s likely to cost her an absolute fortune!”
