‘Bold & Beautiful’ Shocking Truth About Why Hunter Tylo Left Show, Will She Be Back?
For many soap opera fans, Hunter Tylo is famous for originating the role of Taylor Hayes on The Bold and the Beautiful. However, the actress last appeared as the character in 2019. Since then, the actress herself has recently opened up about her departure from the show.
Hunter Tylo Joined The Bold and the Beautiful Back In 1990
Tylo, born Deborah Jo Hunter, is best known for playing Taylor Hayes on The Bold and the Beautiful. Originating the role in 1990, she last appeared on the soap in 2019. Since then, the character has been portrayed by Krista Allen and Rebecca Budig.
Tylo started her television career with soaps, including roles on All My Children and Days of Our Lives. Famously, in the mid-1990s, she was initially cast in the primetime soap opera Melrose Place, even briefly leaving The Bold and the Beautiful for the role. However, she was let go prior to filming when her pregnancy came to light, leading to a famous lawsuit.

Recently, Tylo opened up about her more recent departure from The Bold and the Beautiful. Recently, the actress was interviewed as part of The Unexpected Cosmology.
While talking about her final episodes in 2019, Tylo opened up about the physical altercation between her character and Katherine Kelly Lang’s Brooke. Noting it was “intense,” she shared, “At least it was supposed to be wrapping up, but the door kept feeling open like there might be another episode.”
One Intense Moment Was A Turning Point For The Actress
Tylo then shared that she was commuting to the studio from Scottsdale and wasn’t interested in staying on the show long-term. As she shared, “It was only a temporary thing so that we could deal with a plot point of who shot Bil. Then, of course, they needed a plot point for the baby, I guess, to be kidnapped or sold or I can’t remember.”
The actress also discussed scenes she was uncomfortable doing, such as bed scenes or having her character seduce a married man. However, she felt these requests went ignored. She shared, “But then they had there in that next to last episode a scene where I walk up, and while Brooke is out of the room, kiss Ridge on the lips deliberately.”

“I said, ‘Wait a minute. I thought we were not going to do that. I’m not going to do that.’ And they responded, ‘Well, it’s not a bed scene.’ I go, ‘But still, no. That is not what I said I wanted to do.’”
In addition, script changes Tylo suggested ended up going ignored, even when having troubles with scripts. Eventually, things reached a point during the altercation with Brooke.
Tylo Also Discussed Issues She Had With Contracts On The Show
While understanding that Lang was simply helping her as an actress, Tylo felt things reached a point where she said, “I don’t like where this is going because nobody stepped up to try to stop it.” She noted that, “Nobody was protecting me. And I was just like, why am I staying here? Why would I do this? Why would I do this anymore?”
Tylo also discussed the issue of contracts, feeling a lot of the ones in the industry are “one-sided.” She added that this was why she didn’t sign one in 2018, noting 2019 was when she last appeared on the soap.
When asked, at the time, if she wanted to return to the soap, Tylo admitted she said “no.” Instead, she wanted to take time off for her health. As she shared, “I knew I was sick. I knew I was getting sick.” She also revealed that she took this time to get in touch with herself spiritually. As noted by IMDB, her final 2019 appearance as Taylor remains her last acting role.
