Katie Thurston Has Exciting News
This has been an incredibly hard year for The Bachelorette alum Katie Thurston. She has had to face her mortality after learning she had breast cancer. To add to that, the cancer ended up becoming stage 4 when it spread to her liver. This was devastating to hear, but she knew she had to go on with her life. Katie and her fiancé, Jeff Arcuri, went on to tie the knot in a small, intimate ceremony. She also froze her eggs in case the treatment impacted her fertility. Not everyone has this advantage, as some must rush into treatment before they can retrieve anything.
As she has gone along with her journey, Katie has been very verbal about what she is going through. She wants to raise awareness for her cause, which is extremely admirable. At the same time, Katie has taken time for a big and exciting project that she cannot wait to share with her followers. She has teamed up with the Little Words Project, which creates inspirational jewelry. By doing this, Katie hopes to raise money for METAvivor, a “non-profit organization dedicated to increasing awareness of advanced breast cancer and equity in research and patient support.”
The bracelet that Katie Thurston helped create reads “THRIVING,” and the IV comes from fan inspiration. They told her to work on something for stage 4 cancer, and sure enough, she came up with something incredible. As of now, The Bachelorette’s design is just in the creation phase, but it will be incredible when it goes live. So many people have been inspired by her story, and this is a cute way to raise awareness and funds. It is unclear if Katie will do more collaborations.
A Fun Endeavor
The best part about the Little Words Project is that anyone can create something meaningful and special. Not only can bracelets be created and purchased, but so can inspirational charms. In addition, they are relatively reasonably priced, with some only costing $25. The Bachelorette alum is thrilled to be able to make this happen, and with her story and name recognition, it is bound to be an incredible success. It would not be surprising if her former co-stars came out in support of her, but time will tell.
