Black Sabbath frontman and rock icon, Ozzy Osbourne, died on Tuesday, July 22, at the age of 76. The rock star struggled with Parkinson’s disease and a serious spinal injury prior to his passing. Allegedly, Ozzy had a “suicide pact” with his wife, Sharon Osbourne. Since his death, rumors have been circulating that he underwent assisted suicide in Switzerland. Keep reading to find out more.

Ozzy Osbourne Makes A Suicide Pact With His Wife

Ozzy Osbourne, who has been struggling with Parkinson’s disease since 2003, allegedly had a suicide pact with his wife, Sharon.  She addressed the rumors in 2007 when she revealed that she and Ozzy were firm believers in euthanasia. Sharon explained that she and her late husband created a plan to go to Dignitas. Dignitas is an assisted suicide organization in Switzerland. The couple planned to use their services if either of them developed a brain-affecting illness. Osbourne told The Mirror in 2007:

“Ozzy and I have absolutely come to the same decision. If Ozzy or I ever got Alzheimer’s, that’s it – we’d be off.”

Sharon Osbourne revealed that she and her late husband Ozzy Osbourne had their lawyers arrange for the circumstance that with of them needed assisted suicide. She even said they spoke with their children about their plans. However, their daughter, Kelly Osbourne, refuted her mother’s claims. Prior to her dad’s passing, Kelly spoke about the suicide pact during an episode of the podcast The Osbournes. Kelly said:

“Stop making articles or posts about how you think my parents are having a suicide pact. That was bulls–t my mom said to get attention one time. And my dad’s not dying. Stop… He’s not dying. Yes, he has Parkinson’s, and yes, his mobility is completely different than it used to be, but he’s not dying. What is wrong with you?”

Ozzy Osbourne’s Official Cause Of Death Is Unknown

Ozzy Osbourne’s official cause of death remains unknown. However, he passed away surrounded by his family in his Buckinghamshire home. The family announced the rock star’s passing in a public statement on Tuesday. The statement said:

“It is more sadness than mere words can convey that we have to report that our beloved Ozzy Osbourne has passed away this morning. He was with his family and surrounded by love. We ask everyone to respect our family’s privacy at this time.”

An air ambulance was called to the Osbournes’ residence, Welders House, on the day he passed away. A spokesperson for the ambulance company, Thames Valley Air Ambulance, said

“We can confirm that our helicopter was dispatched to provide advanced critical care at an incident near Chalfont St Giles yesterday.”

Reports confirm that paramedics spent two hours working on Ozzy Osbourne before he passed away. The reports confirm that the rock star did not pass away from assisted suicide at a Dignitas facility in Switzerland.
