Rumors have come out concerning music icon Phil Collins, claiming the star is currently in hospice care amid hospitalization. This comes out as the world has said goodbye to various celebrities in recent weeks. Recently, a representative has shed some light on the story.

Phil Collins Came To Fame As A Drummer & Singer For Genesis

Collins is arguably best known as the drummer and lead singer of the rock band Genesis. He then went on to have a successful career as a solo artist. For many, he is also known for his work on the Disney film, Tarzan.

In his personal life, Collins has been married three times. He is the father of five children, Joely, Simon, Lily, Matthew, and Nic, many of whom have careers in music or acting themselves.

As shared by TMZ, Collins had recently become the subject of stories online alleging that the star was in hospice care. With the story spreading like wildfire, many fans took to social media to ask what was going on, as well as share their concerns for the star.

However, a representative had spoken with the publication, saying that the claims Phil was in hospice were untrue. It was confirmed that Phil was undergoing medical treatment, but it was just knee surgery, and his life was said not to be in any danger.

The story likely spread like it had because a few prominent celebrities have passed away in recent weeks. This has included fellow musician Ozzy Osbourne and wrestling icon Hulk Hogan.

Phil Collins Has Been Open About His Health Struggles In Recent Years

At the time, many fans shared their concerns for the star online. One fan wrote, “If Phil Collins goes next, I’m done with his planet.” Another shared, “Dear 2025, please leave Phil Collins alone.”

The rumor likely took steam because Phil has struggled with his health over recent months. The star spoke with MOJO earlier this year, saying his health has gotten in the way of his music.

Speaking with Mark Blake, Collins shared, “I keep thinking I should go downstairs to the studio and see what happens. “But I’m not hungry for it anymore. The thing is, I’ve been sick, I mean very sick…”

The publication noted that Collins endured severe nerve damage after a spinal injury in 2007 and has had issues with his mobility. In 2022, he performed as part of Genesis’s farewell shows, with his health requiring him to sing sitting down while his son Nic played the drums. At the time, Phil’s former bandmate Peter Gabriel also shared, “Phil wasn’t in as great a shape as he used to be, but they did a great job.”

Phil also discussed his health during the 2024 documentary, Phil Collins: Drummer First. He shared, “The drumming has taken its toll on my hands and legs.”
