‘The Voice’ Shocks Fans With Season 29 Coaches
The Voice wrapped up season 27 back in May, but fans were already given a sneak peek at what to expect with Season 29. This already includes a new list of coaches, and it’s already different than what it’s going to be for Season 28. In fact, a lot of format changes are planned for the upcoming season.
The Voice Will Premiere A New Season This Fall, But Fans Now Know What To Expect Next
When it comes to reality competition shows, The Voice adds a twist to the usual panel of judges. The series uses a panel of coaches who critique the contestants, but also guide them through the season. Thanks to this, the series is effectively a competition for the coaches as much as it is for the contestants.
Over the years, fans have seen a number of celebrities take on coaching duties for the show. This has included the likes of Shakira, Usher, Gwen Stefani, Nick Jonas, and Ariana Grande.

Season 28 is set to premiere this upcoming fall. However, fans already have exciting news about Season 29.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, three coaches have already been named for Season 29. The three sitting in the red chairs include Adam Levine, John Legend and Kelly Clarkson. The lineup is already notable, as this is the first time in the show’s history that the panel is made up entirely of past-winning coaches.
This season will come out in February 2026. It will reportedly feature a different format from previous seasons. This includes a theme called “Battle of Champions.”
The New Season Will Also Debut A Few Format Changes
One format change will include a “Triple Turn Challenge” during the blind audition rounds, which gives one coach protection from having their contestants stolen. The knockout rounds will also feature an “In-Season All-Star Competition.” This will feature appearances from past competitors. The semifinals and final will also reportedly feature a “new voting block comprised of super fans and past Voice artists who will have the opportunity to get in on the fun firsthand, experiencing the competition as part of the in-studio audience voting for their favorites in real time.”
Clarkson will be pulling double duty during this time. She will be working on the show, which is based in Los Angeles, alongside her daytime talk show, which is based in New York. Both shows are part of the NBCUniversal, family and the shows’ production teams will reportedly help her coordinate both jobs.

In the meantime, fans can expect a different panel of coaches for Season 28. The coaches will be Michael Bublé, Reba McEntire, Niall Horan, and Snoop Dogg. As previously reported, the series is known for mixing up the coaches in between seasons to help keep things fresh.
