Malcolm-Jamal Warner Dead At 54

In 1984, Malcolm-Jamal Warner stepped into America’s hearts as Theo Huxtable on the hit family sitcom, The Cosby Show. He played the only son of Cliff and Clare Huxtable (Bill Cosby, Phylicia Rashad), and always knew how to bring the laughs. After the show ended in 1992, Malcolm’s career did not end. Rather, he landed his own series, Malcolm & Eddie, and continued to pop up on various series. Most recently, he appeared on 9-1-1 for four episodes as Amir Casey. Sadly, his life has come to an abrupt end, and fans are likely devastated knowing that he is gone.

Per insider sources, Malcolm passed away from an accidental drowning. It has yet to be confirmed that this was how his life ended, but regardless, this is a tragedy. He was still in the public eye, with his own podcast, Not All Hood. An episode dropped just a few days ago, so fans can listen to that to take comfort. He leaves behind a wife and one child; however, he has kept that aspect of his life relatively private. Malcolm-Jamal Warner is no stranger to tragedy. He dated the late actress Michelle Thomas until 1994.

When she died four years later, he was by her bedside as she slipped away. Undoubtedly, that shattered his heart, but how are The Cosby Show fans taking this news? Bill Cosby was under fire for several years for inappropriate conduct and cast a dark shadow upon the series. Now that this heartbreaking news has emerged, all of that has been put on the back burner as viewers mourn the loss. He was a son, friend, and brother to all who grew up with the series, and are clearly in shock.
