As fans of Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani have seen for many years, the husband and wife pair continue to prove that opposites can attract and make things work for the long haul. Not only do these two make completely different styles of music, but they also come from opposite walks of life.
While Gwen Stefani is in her element surrounded by the glitz and glam of a place like Los Angeles, Blake Shelton is most at home on their ranch in Oklahoma. While Blake loves his junk food, Gwen is all about fitness and staying in shape. However, even with all of these differences, they have found common ground that makes their relationship work.
Blake Shelton Reveals How He Really Feels About Gwen’s Music
As fans have seen, Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani have come together over the years in the studio, as they have released a handful of duets. Somehow, they have even managed to make their different approaches to music come together in cohesive songs.
Still, Blake Shelton revealed how he really felt about Gwen Stefani’s music, and he had a lot to say about it, too. Not long after the pair started dating, Blake Shelton was on his way to pick Gwen up from the airport in Oklahoma, and he told Seth Myers while on his talk show, “I was flipping through XM radio, and I stopped on this song and I was like, ‘That sounds like Gwen. What in the hell is this? Why don’t I know this?”
Blake continued, adding, “And it was a song called ‘It’s My Life,’ which was a huge record for them. And I’m going, ‘Holy hell, I didn’t know Gwen sang that song. I’ve always known ‘Hey Baby.’ I didn’t know she sang that freakin’ song. All these songs! It’s like, ‘Wow, that was you? AND we’ve kissed? Wow! That’s amazing!”
What’s interesting about this is the fact that Gwen did not know much about Blake Shelton at all before they started filming together on The Voice. She said, “I didn’t know Blake Shelton existed before I went on that show. It’s inconceivable that we would even know each other and be friends, let alone do music together. But at the same time, it’s like we have so many things that come together, and we’re the same, even with music.”
