Fans Livid Over CBS ‘Young & Restless’, ‘Bold & Beautiful’ Time Slot Change

Beyond The Gates Returns After Week-long Absence
The Young & The Restless and The Bold & The Beautiful have been the only soaps on CBS for decades. Soap fans rejoiced in February when a new soap premiered on the network. Beyond The Gates follows the lives of the fictional Dupree family. What makes the show so unique is that the majority of the cast is Black.
Fans quickly got invested in the storylines, which is why they were shocked when the soap didn’t air last week. This isn’t the first time the new soap took a break. CBS aired reruns during the week leading up to the July 4th holiday. Beyond The Gates returns with new episodes on Monday, July 7, but it won’t air in its usual time slot.
‘Young & Restless’, ‘Bold & Beautiful’ Time Slots Change
The Young & The Restless and The Bold & The Beautiful are both long-running soaps on CBS. Y&R recently revealed the identity of the mysterious Aristotle Dumas that has fans at the edge of their seats. Meanwhile, CBS recently moved B&B to a new studio, indicating that they are invested in the soap.
With so many good storylines going on, soap fans tune in every day. But some fans won’t be able to watch any of the CBS soaps at their usual time. The entire lineup is moving for residents in the Tampa, Florida, area.
According to The U.S. Sun, the local news and weather program, Tampa Bay Midday, is extending to a full hour and will now air from 12 p.m. until 1 p.m. The Young & The Restless aired at 12:30 p.m. when the news broadcast was only thirty minutes long.
The change to an hour news report pushes back all three CBS soaps. Y&R will now air from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. Beyond The Gates stays in the 2 p.m. time slot, but is now followed by a half-hour news report.
The Bold & The Beautiful will now air from 3 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. The changes begin today, Monday, July 7.
CBS Fans Livid Over Schedule Shakeup
The schedule change only affects people in the Tampa Bay area of Florida. However, soap fans were still livid over the change and took to social media to vent.
One fan wrote, “That’s so annoying for Florida residents!”
The changes only affect a small portion of the viewing audience, but many fans were concerned that the changes were nationwide.
As for the reason for the change, one fan speculated it was to bring in more ratings for The Bold & Beautiful. “I was they wanted to get more viewers for B & B since BTG seems to be a hit and it will follow them now.”

How could CBS screw up the first day with the new 1-2pm time slot??? Last 30 minutes recorded only, even though it showed in the list that the entire hour was recorded. Please get your act together, loyal fans deserve it!
Ridiculous just trying to get viewing for Beyond The Gates which I will not be watching.
I agree, the acting is not very good, I watched the first week and said oh hell to the no on this one 🙂
Tried watching “Beyond the Gates”, suffered through two weeks. CBS please go back to the drawing board.
