‘Love Island USA’ Cierra Ortega’s Team Speaks Out On Racist Behavior
Love Island USA star Cierra Ortega is in extremely hot water over a racial slur she made in 2015 and 2020. Now, her team is speaking out on what happened and where they stand with the Season 7 islander amid all of the drama. So, what are their thoughts? Keep reading for more details.
Cierra Ortega’s Team Speaks Out On Racist Behavior
Recently, it has resurfaced that Love Island USA Season 7 star Cierra Ortega had made racist remarks. It did not happen once, but rather twice, first in 2015 and then again in 2020. This had made viewers look at her differently and feel that she needs to be removed. Yulissa Escobar was taken from the villa in episode 2 after it came out that she had spouted racial slurs. This did not sit well with production, and they seemed to know this would be a problem. Therefore, she vanished and only recently shared her side of the story.
With Cierra’s tainted past coming back to haunt her, she has lost hundreds of thousands of social media followers. For someone who has been an influencer, this could effectively end her career. Now, her social media team is speaking out regarding what happened and how they feel. They explained that they do not condone what Cierra has done and how she spoke. More so, they noted that they had no idea what had been posted or said until just recently. Now, they are stepping away from running her account, have turned off comments, and will not be speaking for the islander.
It is clear that this is a very hard situation to navigate, and they want to do what is right for Cierra and her family. However, what the Love Island USA star did has turned a lot of fans off, and they do not want to deal with her antics. It was noted that if Yulissa Escobar had to leave for slurs, then Cierra should be held to the same standard. As of now, it is unclear what will happen or if she will be let go from the show.
Time Is Running Out
There is one week left until the Love Island USA finale, and even if Cierra Ortega is not removed, she will likely not win. More so, she will be shocked at what has transpired while she has been in Fiji. After fans saw that her team was done with her, were they shocked, or were they happy that she was not being coddled? They believed the show should get her out ASAP:
- Honestly the way to stop this hate train or at least cool it off is to take her out of the villa. The more time she is shown on screen, the worse it’s gonna get.

Peacock has released a statement in an episode about online bullying and the relentless hate. Some of the cast have been receiving death threats, which is indefensible. As for Cierra, her following keeps dropping to new lows. She went in with around one million followers and is now down to a little over 600K. It will be interesting to hear what she has to say once the season is over.
