Country Singer Miranda Lambert recently took to Instagram to ask fans for prayers amid a recent disaster impacting her home state. During the share, she also talked about how she was planning on helping those impacted. Fans have also been sharing their own reactions to Lambert’s message.

Miranda Lambert Asked Fans For Prayers Amid A Recent Tragedy On The Fourth Of July

Lambert, who started her career in the early 2000s, competed on Nashville Star in 2003. Ultimately, she finished in third place on the show.

Since then, Lambert has had a prominent career as a country artist. In her personal life, she was married to Blake Shelton from 2011 to 2015. She later married Brendan McLoughlin in 2019.

Recently, Lambert took to social media to call upon fans for help as she spoke out about floods impacting Texas, her home state, amid the Fourth of July holiday. Taking to Instagram, the singer wrote, “Texas needs our help. As always @muttnation Foundation is jumping in to support, and if you’d like to join us please support our fundraiser.”

“Hey, y’all. I just wanna jump on here and say how devastated we are to hear about the floods in South and Central Texas. I can’t even come up with any words for the loss that everybody’s suffering.”

The Country Singer Told Fans To Keep An Eye Out For Upcoming Updates

Lambert shared that she has sought to help out through her MuttNation Foundation. She explained, “MuttNation Foundation is working really closely with Kerrville Pets Alive, as we speak to try to get more info and figure out where the needs are to support the pet community and pet owners in this disaster.” The foundation aims to help Texans and pets who have been displaced by the recent deluge.

Lambert advised fans to keep watching for updates. As she shared, “We will have more info as it goes, but I’ll post everything that I know to post right now.” She continued, “So y’all join with us and try to help out as much as you can, and keep sending prayers, and I’ll keep you posted.”

According to MuttNation’s website, the foundation was started by “country music icon Miranda Lambert and her mom, Bev Lambert, in 2009.” It continued, “Since its inception, the Foundation has raised over $11 million and assisted more than 1,000 shelters.” The website also shared a link for those willing to make donations to the foundation amid the flood, with a goal set at $15,000.

According to ABC News, heavy rainfall took place overnight and during the early morning hours of July 4th in Central Texas. By July 5, the death toll had risen to 43 people, including 15 children.

Taking to the comments, fans also shared their thoughts and prayers with the singer. A few shared different ways they are helping displaced pets. Some comments included:

  • “Amen, sister. The humanitarian locations need this type of outreach to be able to support ‘all members’ of a family. To help keep them alive, together & thriving through this disaster!”
  • “My wife works with the San Antonio Humane Society. She and the director and another volunteer are headed to Kerville Pets Alive with a van of supplies!”
  • “That’s very nice thing to do. Thanks for helping them pets and people out.”
