New Chad DiMera’s ‘DOOL’ Debut Date Revealed
Billy Flynn announced in March that he was leaving Days of Our Lives for a new role on the CBS soap The Young & The Restless. DOOL fans started speculating last week about who would replace him on the Peacock soap. It was confirmed a few days later that Conner Floyd is the new Chad DiMera. When can fans expect to see him on their screens?
Conner Floyd & Billy Flynn Switch Soap Operas
Conner Floyd joined The Young & the Restless as Phillip “Chance” Chancellor IV in 2021. The character hasn’t been seen often lately. So, fans were surprised when Chance was given an invitation to Aristotle Dumas’ estate in France. The gathering was a perfect way to reveal Billy Flynn as Aristotle Dumas, AKA Cane Ashby.
Chance’s role at the party quickly became clear. Cane feared someone would try to kill him once his identity was revealed. He brought the cop to keep him safe. Some fans think that Chance is the one who will end up murdered, freeing actor Conner Floyd up for his move to DOOL.
Billy Flynn Shares Thoughts On Recast
Billy Flynn recently chatted with soap journalist Michael Fairman about his decision to leave Days Of Our Lives.
“I gave Chad everything and Chad gave me everything. It’s like being in a play. Now, it’s time for somebody else to take it over,” the actor said about leaving the soap after more than a decade.
He revealed that he knew that Conner Floyd was the new Chad DiMera when they filmed scenes together for The Young and the Restless. He said that he broke the ice by congratulating Conner Floyd for getting the role. Billy Flynn thinks DOOL made the right choice and hopes fans will give the new actor a chance.
“I don’t think it could have been a better person. I really, really like Conner. […]We eerily sound similar,” Billy Flynn told Michael Fairman.
He added, “He is going to take it to the next level. I think Conner is going to do amazing.”
Billy Flynn also knows what Y&R viewers are saying about him replacing Daniel Goddard as Cane. “When I took over Cane, I was shorter and not Australian, and now according to some, less handsome and I might agree with you,” he joked.
When Will Fans See The New Chad DiMera?
DOOL fans are sad to see Billy Flynn leave the show. But they’ll actually still see him on the Peacock soap for a while. Days of Our Lives films almost a year in advance. Billy Flynn will appear on both DOOL and Y&R at the same time. His scenes as Chad DiMera are expected to air through early 2026. So when does Conner Floyd take over?
PEOPLE magazine reports that Conner Floyd began taping on DOOL on Monday, June 23. However, viewers won’t see him on-screen until April 21, 2026.
