HGTV star Keith Bynum has shared a heartbreaking post and revealed that it is the end of an era. He has starred on Bargain Block for four seasons now, so what has him so emotional? Keep reading for further details on what he had to say.

Keith Bynum Shares Heartbreaking Post

HGTV fans have gotten to know Keith Bynum and his longtime partner, Evan Thomas, through their hit reality series, Bargain Block. Essentially, the Detroit-based duo flips houses, both having a special skill set. Keith is the home designer, while Evan does all of the construction and building. Shea Hicks-Whitfield is also featured as a realtor with the show premiering in 2021. Thirty-four episodes have aired, and sadly, that is all viewers are going to get. The series was canceled ahead of Season 5, which has been a devastating blow for Keith. Although he has other ventures, this is something he and Evan have really loved.

Now that the show is officially over, Keith shared an emotional post on social media, alongside several snaps of the world around him. He shared how the last six months have been a roller coaster for him and Evan, and noted that their time on the network is coming to an end. However, he added that he is grateful for all of the people who have followed the duo. More so, he went into Bargain Block knowing the risks and how things can change on a dime. Things can get messy, and he has come to see that through this experience.

Ty Pennington of Extreme Makeover fame shared his experiences with Keith after being in the business for nearly three decades. Despite the uncertainty of television, Ty was excited for what was to come from Keith and Evan. Although their time at HGTV was coming to an end, their careers are not. Ty was extremely supportive of the couple during this transition, and that likely helps ease some of the pain.

Fans Want The Gossip

After how shattered Keith Bynum seemed by the HGTV cancellation, fans and followers wanted more details. They asked if he had signed an NDA because they wanted the behind-the-scenes gossip. As sad as Keith was, he was also very sharp in his words and was not backing down from calling everyone out. Evan Thomas chimed in on his partner’s post, stating that they have a lot of great things ahead of them. Hopefully, they will return to television and make it exactly what they want. Viewers did hope that Bargain Block would get a second life elsewhere:

  • I hope their show is moved elsewhere. I loved everything about the show. I don’t know about y’all but I liked seeing houses get fixed and be in a price range I could afford.
  • Noooo! Someone needs to make a new channel with shows like this and Houses with History.

Many HGTV fans loved how affordable their creations were, which is vastly different from many other shows. It was relatable, and that aspect will be sorely missed.

Are you sad for Keith and Evan, but are you excited for what is next? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.

  1. I am really disappointed that the show was cancelled. It was different and fun to watch, and it seemed really a work of love. I looked forward to each challenge they faced and the theme of each house. Why did you cancel it?

  2. This is a shame! HGTV will have nothing left worth watching! That snotty Alison Victoria and her rants are not becoming. You have taken away Izzy does it, Christa on the coast, married to real estate and other great shows. I definitely will not be watching HGTV anymore.
