HGTV fans are expressing how upset they are over the cancellation of the hit series, Bargain Block. It aired for four seasons and featured long-term couple Keith Bynum and Evan Thomas. So, what are viewers saying now that it is all over? Keep reading for more details.

Fans Devastated Over Bargain Block Cancellation

Bargain Block has been an HGTV success, running for four seasons. Viewers loved that what Evan Thomas and Keith Byrum achieved was for everyone. They did all things on a budget, and in a world of lavish multimillion-dollar castle real estate, it was nice to have a humble series. Unfortunately, it was not renewed for Season 5, which has broken the hearts of the hosts and fans alike. Keith has said that he came into this project knowing how hard television can be. Therefore, he was not overly surprised. However, he had no idea how cruel the industry could be.

The couple has promised that more exciting things are coming, which is great for them. However, fans are not happy that the show has been axed, and they are expressing how they feel. They have stated that this series was relatable and that they learned a lot from the guys. Furthermore, they felt Keith and Evan did a lot for Detroit, and that could not be ignored. There was also the question of why the series was canceled in the first place. One follower called the show “unique” and noted how different it was from Fixer to Fabulous and Home Town.

It was questioned if Bargain Block was canceled due to the comments Keith and Evan made regarding Rock the Block. They did not appear to have a positive experience, and fans wanted to know more, but they had signed NDAs. Another possible reason it was axed was a lack of “product placement.” When they rebuild or reconstruct, they utilize recycled materials. Therefore, there is no income coming in from promotions. Finally, one viewer pointed out that Discovery and WB splitting is causing shows to be cut.

This Is Not Fair

Fans are hopeful that Bargain Block will find a home elsewhere. For the time being, they have a lot to say about the cancellation, and maybe it will reach the right people or network. Someone was so upset over the ending that they shared a link to contact HGTV. They are hopeful that enough people will contact the network and it will renew the series:

  • Ahhh what a bummer! I love that show and that couple
  •  I love Keith & Evan, and I enjoy their creativity and use of COLOR which seems to be missing from all the other shows on HGTV. So tired of white everything.
  • I love both Kevin and Evan. I need more of them on my TV screen.

Although many do not believe that their voices and messages will change anything, it is worth a try. Are you upset about Bargain Block being canceled, or do you think there is more to the story? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.

  1. Just another ail in the coffin of hgtv. Keep mediocre shows and cancel the best. What else is new for corporate tv? Toobad 👎🏻😢

  2. I love Bargain Block! I even like the reruns of the show..

I will certainly watch HGTV less than I used to.

  3. What is wrong with HGTV? I absolutely love this show! Keith and Evan are fantastic! What do we get instead? More House Hunters, which has definitely passed it’s best before date! I’m very upset about this.

  4. HGTV has gone to hell in a hand basket. The crap they show now is so mundane and just plain icky.

Bargain Block was a breath of fresh air(no pun intended). Keith and Evan are so talented and fun to watch. Shea was always a Hoot. Bargain Block showed that even depressed areas can be converted into lovely inviting homes. Detroit should be proud. HGTV should be ashamed.
