Bringing Up Bates star Lydia Bates has been celebrating the arrival of her newborn daughter, Kaia Rae. The 27-year-old mom welcomed her second child on June 16, 2025. Kaia is also Lydia’s rainbow baby. She suffered from a miscarriage last year, making it an emotional pregnancy. Lydia has also uploaded a new vlog featuring Kaia Rae’s face. Lydia was overdue with her pregnancy with Kaia Rae. She has tried different methods to finally give birth, but she would also get “false alarms.” It came to a point where the Bringing Up Bates star sought Kelly Jo’s help. The two walked outside with Kelly Jo teaching one of her secrets, which is walking while stretching out legs and arms. Just a few days after doing that with her mother-in-law, Lydia gave birth to Kaia Rae. She had to have an epidural after feeling so weak during labor. Lydia gave birth to a healthy baby girl, and many fans celebrated the arrival of her rainbow baby.

Lydia Bates recently took to YouTube to share a new vlog featuring her birth story. Trace started off the video with Lydia starting to feel pain moments before giving birth to her daughter. Moments later, Trace featured the moment Lydia finally went into labor. The delivery went smoothly, and the married couple were able to cuddle with their baby girl. It’s clear that Bringing Up Bates fans still wouldn’t be able to tell if Kaia Rae looks more like her mom or dad. During the same vlog, Kelly Jo Bates continued her tradition by welcoming her newborn grandchild to the hospital. Trace shared a sweet clip of Kelly Jo carrying her granddaughter for the first time.
The Bringing Up Bates star couldn’t believe how adorable Kaia Rae looks, who was trying her best to open her eyes. Kelly Jo added that everything was worth the wait, referring to Lydia being overdue.
