Tom Sandoval’s Pitiful Attempt To Save Career, Gets Roasted, Vid
Tom Sandoval was a household name two years ago, but not for a good reason. His affair with Vanderpump Rules co-star Rachel Leviss was exposed in the messiest way possible. The entire country rallied around Ariana Madix, who had been dating Sandoval for nearly ten years before the affair came out. She’s since landed huge gigs, including starring on Broadway. She now hosts Love Island USA.
Bravo fans first got to know Tom Sandoval as a bartender at the SUR restaurant owned by Lisa Vanderpump. He was part of the original Vanderpump Rules cast. He was an aspiring actor when the show premiered in 2013. One of his acting credits before the show was appearing in Bon Jovi’s video for “Misunderstood” in 2002.
After years of tending bar at the popular L.A. hot spot, Tom Sandoval opened a bar with his best friend and cast mate, Tom Schwartz. Unfortunately, Schwartz & Sandy’s was hit hard by public backlash from the cheating scandal and closed last year.
Tom Sandoval is also an aspiring musician. He’s toured the country with his band, Tom Sandoval & The Most Extras. In fact, it was during one of his concerts that Ariana Madix found out about the affair after seeing an explicit video of Rachel on Tom’s phone.
The Bravo star and his band appear on an upcoming episode of America’s Got Talent. The NBC show shared a preview clip of Tom Sandoval & The Most Extras performing A-ha’s hit song “Take On Me.”
Bravo Star Auditions On America’s Got Talent
Simon Cowell gained fame in the U.S. as a terse judge on Fox’s singing competition, American Idol. But he had an idea for a talent show that went beyond just singing. He created America’s Got Talent in 2006. Surprisingly, he wasn’t one of the show’s initial judges. He didn’t join the judging panel until Season 11 in 2016. Howie Mandel, Mel B, and Sofía Vergara round out the current judges for Season 20, which premiered in late May.
The competition features a variety of talent acts, including dancing, magic, stunts, and, yes, singing. The winning act gets a cash prize of one million dollars and public exposure from appearing on the show.
The show usually features regular Americans looking for their big break. But Tom Sandoval takes the stage with his band on an upcoming episode of America’s Got Talent, leaving viewers and the judges in shock.
Viewers Left In Shock
America’s Got Talent is the latest in a long line of reality TV shows Tom Sandoval has been on since the scandal. He competed on Special Forces, The Traitors, and The Masked Singer.
He said in the preview clip that he wanted a chance to show who he is as a musician on AGT. The judges looked skeptical when he first took the stage but warmed up once Tom Sandoval began to sing the song.
Bravo fans were ready to hate on his performance. But they had to admit it wasn’t as bad as they expected. One fan wrote, “I hate, but he actually sounds good here. I think he embraced his own vocal range rather than trying to mimic the original.”
Another added, “How on earth did he not suck? Wow.”
The show teased Tom Sandoval and his band’s performance, but didn’t reveal if they made it through to the next round. Tune in to America’s Got Talent on NBC on Tuesday, June 24, at 8 PM Eastern to see what happens.
