When it is all over, the winner walks away with a Universal Music Group recording contract. There have also long been rumors that they get an additional $100K, but no one knows if that is an actuality. NBC has remained tight-lipped on the amount, but Chevel Shepherd, who won Season 15, did spill that there was money. She said that she had big plans for her winnings once she obtained her permit:

“Maybe a car. We had to postpone getting my permit because of The Voice so when we get back [home], I have to get it.”

In Season 18, Todd Tilghman, who won, stated that he was going to put his money to good use. However, he knew that his winnings would change his life for the better, although he was not rushing to buy just yet.

Adam David was the Season 27 winner of The Voice, after overcoming many show challenges. He recognized that anyone in the finale could have won, and he was so grateful. More so, he was happy he could bring home the prize. That filled him with immense pride, more than any monetary gift.

Harsh Criticism

Despite taking home the title of The Voice winner and possible prize money, there can also be a lot of harsh criticism. Adam David did his best, and his coach, Michael Buble, praised him to no end. Yet, some viewers did not think he was deserving of the win. Rather, they wanted Renzo, or another contestant, to walk away the winner and shared the sentiment. They also knew who they did not want to win, and that was Jadyn Cree. She was a legacy contestant as her father had been on a previous season. After Adam reigned supreme, there were many comments taking jabs at him:

  • I’ve never been more disappointed in America. Renzo absolutely deserved this win.
  • I’m sorry but I literally don’t understand how he just won when just last week he didnt even have enough votes to make the top 4?
  • Wtf !!!!!! Lucia was the voice !!!
  • I’m about to stop watching. No way team legend didn’t win or Adam with Kolby. This is crazy

This was a rough season, but American Idol has gone through the same thing. Fans have grown tired of the show revolving around sob stories and heartbreak. Instead, they want to hear the vocals and let the votes be based on that. Many have also stated that they voted for Adam David because they loved the emotions he brought to the show. Plus, they were fans of his story, and he walked away with a contract and likely some cash.
