Williams’ Ex-Husband Kevin Hunter Files Lawsuit Against Her Guardian

Based on the latest updates making the rounds surrounding this situation, Wendy Williams’ ex-husband recently filed a lawsuit against her guardian, Sabrina Morrissey. In the lawsuit (which was filed on Williams’ behalf), it alleges that Morrissey “sold” Wendy’s rescue cats.

The lawsuit goes on to allege that by getting rid of these beloved animals, it isolated Wendy Williams even more, especially when it comes to things like companionship and emotional support during the difficult time that Wendy has gone through.

According to PEOPLE, the list of demands in the lawsuit filed by Wendy Williams’ ex includes “a ‘new impartial guardian,’ the unsealing of her case files, her release from ‘involuntary confinement’ and $250 million in relief for ‘financial loss, reputational damage, emotional distress, reputational harm, legal expense and deprivation of liberty.'”

LaShawn Thomas, the attorney who filed this recent lawsuit, said recently in a statement that Williams is “not legally aware of all of the evidence that supports our claims that she should not be forced to suffer from this guardianship.”

The statement continues, adding, “I plan on laying out sufficient evidence to support our claims and ensure that her rights are vindicated and she is made whole financially.”

The lawsuit in question names 48 defendants in total, which includes Sabrina Morrissey, Wells Fargo, and even the judge presiding over the guardianship, Lisa Sokoloff. It’s also worth noting that this recent lawsuit does not seek to end the guardianship in question, but to shed light on the fact that Williams has been a victim of “unrestrained abuse, maltreatment, and fiscal malfeasance” since her guardianship began.
