When Unexpected fans first met Ethan Ybarra in Season 4 of the hit TLC reality series, he was about to become a teen father. Along with his girlfriend, Myrka Cantu, they were expecting their first child, a daughter. She ended up moving in with him and his parents after her mother was livid over the situation. Things were great, but eventually, the couple had to leave Ethan’s home. They had their daughter, Attalie, and tried to make it work, but things soon went downhill. Ethan began getting into trouble when he was arrested for robbery and battery.
Myrka met and fell in love with someone new, and they have since welcomed two children. She struggled toward the end of high school; her mental state was not great. However, she seemingly has picked herself up and is doing incredibly well. As for Ethan, he may have been in legal hot water, but a photo was just shared of him and his daughter, not Attalie. They were celebrating Father’s Day, and he was smiling, but he looked completely different from the fresh-faced teen fans knew. Ethan had put on some weight, let his hair grow out and curl, plus donned a full beard.
After Unexpected fans saw this photo, they could not believe it was the same person. At the same time, several years have passed since the season aired, and he is not a teenager any longer. He is far bulkier than he was before, but Ethan Ybarra seems content with his life. It also seemed to many that he aged overnight, but again, Season 4 was a long time ago, back in 2020.

Of course, some Unexpected fans knew it was Ethan Ybarra right away. They could see something in his face and eyes that gave it away. However, others could not get over the drastic change and how much he had grown in more than five years. After he and Myrka Cantu split, there were allusions that she fell out with his family. Furthermore, it was alleged that he was a deadbeat father, which was not a good look. Fortunately, Myrka has stated that her current man is always there for her and her kids, and they cannot live without him.
