Anne Burrell Dead At 55
It is a tragic day for Food Network and Worst Cooks in America fans. Host and network favorite, Anne Burrell, has passed away. She was just fifty-five years old at the time of her death, and it comes as a shock to all who watched and loved her. Earlier this year, it appeared that she had been let go from the network, yet she was synonymous with bad cooks and horrid food. Anne’s personality knew how to be critical, but she still always smiled throughout every episode and challenge. She was a bright light, and it appears that she was not sick when she passed away.
The chef passed away in her Brooklyn, New York home on Tuesday, June 17th. She is survived by her husband, Stuart Claxton, whom she wed in 2021. Anne also leaves behind her stepson, son, Javier, her mother, Marlene, and siblings, Jane and Ben. She also left her nieces and nephew, Isabella, Amelia, and Nicolas, who are undoubtedly devastated. Her family released a statement regarding her passing:
“Anne was a beloved wife, sister, daughter, stepmother, and friend — her smile lit up every room she entered. Anne’s light radiated far beyond those she knew, touching millions across the world. Though she is no longer with us, her warmth, spirit, and boundless love remain eternal.”
Anne Burrell was born in New York, and her love of cooking came from Julia Child. She aimed to emulate her, but first, she went to college. After that, she headed to the Culinary Institute of America, where she honed her cooking talents.
Anne worked at some of the best restaurants in the city but eventually opted to teach at the Institute of Culinary Education. From teaching, she soon gained fame as a television persona on the Food Network. She was the sous chef on Iron Chef America, and in 2008, Anne landed her own series, Secrets of a Restaurant Chef. This would run for nine seasons before venturing onto other gigs.
Flooded Sadness
Anne Burrell had just begun her latest series, House of Knives, and it was only three months old when she passed away. Additionally, she released two books and was known for being very philanthropic. This was a passion of hers, and all she wanted to do was give back to those around her. Many were shocked when she and her husband tied the knot. However, they have remained very happy for the last four years, and have sadly been ripped apart. The two met on the dating app Bumble in 2018, and Anne adored her husband. The moment fans learned about Anne’s passing, they headed to her social media. They did not believe it and needed to understand what had happened:
- Did she really pass away?
- Rip Anne. You brought so much light to Food Network. Worst Cooks is still one of my favorite shows.
- RIP ANNE! I can’t believe this! We lost a good one!😢
- This can’t be true. Chef Anne you were vivacious, hilarious, full of life and reminded me of my Mom. I’m so so sorry. Rest with the Angels in Heaven and cook up a storm for us ❤️❤️❤️
Again, as of now, there is no cause of death being released, but hopefully, Anne Burrell feels all of the love, no matter where she is. Sending so much love and light to her family and loved ones in this heartbreaking time.
