Mario Lopez Sued For Millions, Gets Served In TikTok Video
Actor and Access Hollywood host, Mario Lopez, was just served in a TikTok video, but what was the reason? Is there a lawsuit pending, and is the father of three in very hot water? Keep reading for all of the details that are currently known about the situation.
Mario Lopez Served In TikTok Video
Viewers have watched the evolution of Mario Lopez since he was a drummer/dancer on Kids Incorporated. He then moved on to the smash hit role of A.C. Slater on Saved by the Bell. There, he was the muscular heartthrob, and came back for subsequent spinoffs and movies. From there, Mario made television movies and guest appearances before he appeared on Season 3 of Dancing With the Stars. He was dating pro Karina Smirnoff, and they were that season’s runner-up. Mario began his hosting career, working on Extra from 2008 through 2019, and moved on to Access Hollywood, where he has been a popular staple.

He also loves to do TikTok videos with his children and his wife, Courtney Mazza. They have been married since 2012, and have an amazing time together. Unfortunately, a recent incident was caught on video, and it does not bode well for Mario. He was seen being served on camera, and it was a lawsuit regarding an old Instagram post. This all went down on Sunday, June 15th, and he was outside his home. That was when the suit was dropped through his gate, and he was told he had been served. It was also Father’s Day, so that was acknowledged, as well.

So, what was he sued for? Allegedly, in his post, Mario Lopez is being accused of defaming Desiree Townsend. She is demanding $10 million in the suit, and fans who saw the clip felt that it was a baseless claim. He shared a snippet of Desiree and joked that there had to be an award for her performance, as she claimed she had dystonia from a flu vaccination. Mario seemed to think she was faking whatever was wrong with her, and that did not sit well with Desiree.

A Year Has Passed
The thing about the lawsuit is that Mario Lopez shared the clip about a year ago. So, the big question is, what took Desiree Townsend so long to file the lawsuit? Many who saw the clip for the first time after the filing just shook their heads. They were baffled as to why Desiree felt she had a claim and what was so offensive about what Mario said:
- I just read her lawsuit she can’t be for real. I don’t like this guy, but I’m pretty sure she legit stalks him
- The lawsuit ain’t going anywhere..
- So giving an Oscar worthy performance is defamatory? I think the entire Academy of Arts & Sciences would disagree.
Desiree has since stepped out and made a video explaining why she is suing Mario. She shared that she was flooded with crazy comments, which is why she chose to speak out. Desiree stated that she did not file this for fame, and noted that she works in law. Therefore, doing this would not help her business. It was also filed against Inside Edition, and she added she wants to protect her “livelihood” and keep her job. There have been excessive hate comments directed at her after Mario Lopez shared his videos, and she just wants protection.
Do you think that this suit will go anywhere, or is it just baseless and ridiculous? Furthermore, do you believe Desiree does not want fame? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.
