‘American Idol’ Alum Lauren Alaina Welcomes First Child
Lauren Alaina was just 15 years old when she competed on American Idol. She came in second place after Scotty McCreery. She didn’t win the singing competition, but she became a country music star in her own right, giving hope to other up-and-coming musicians who compete on the show.
But the singing competition wasn’t the only reality star she competed on. She joined Season 28 of the ABC dance competition Dancing With The Stars, where she was also a finalist. She left the show in fourth place. Bachelor Nation’s Hannah Brown won that season. Nearly fifteen years after she first became a star, Lauren Alaina welcomed her first child. Lauren Alaina Married Cam Arnold In 2024
When Lauren Alaina was on DWTS, she had recently broken up with a boyfriend. She said that she didn’t want to date again. However, she changed her mind with time. The “Getting Over Him” singer began quietly dating Cam Arnold in 2020 after meeting at a music festival. However, they didn’t go public with their romance until 2022, when they announced their engagement.
The couple married in a rowdy ceremony in Nashville, Tennessee, in February 2024, according to PEOPLE magazine. They didn’t waste any time starting their family.
Rumors began swirling online in early 2025 that the American Idol star was pregnant. She confirmed the rumors by revealing her baby bump at the end of the music video for her hit song, “Those Kind Of Women.”
She Tried Drastic Approach To Inducing Labor
Lauren Alaina’s due date at the end of May and was ready to evict the baby from their cozy abode. She posted a video on social media on May 24 of a drastic measure to induce labor. The singer “curb walked” in an effort to hurry the baby along. She walked on a curb with just one foot on the curb and the other on the road. The uneven movement is supposed to put the baby in the perfect position to deliver.
Obviously, that didn’t work for Lauren Alaina’s baby. The singer continued with the pregnancy for over two weeks past her due date. But her baby is finally here!
American Idol Alum Welcomes First Child
She posted on Instagram that she had welcomed her first child with her husband, Cam Arnold, earlier this week. The baby girl arrived on Wednesday, June 11, 2025. They named the sweet arrival Beni Doll Arnold. According to the new mom, the baby weighed 7 lbs. and 13 oz. and was 19 inches. She isn’t the only American Idol alum to welcome a baby this year. Season 23 winner Jamal Roberts welcomed his third child while competing on the show.

In a lengthy caption introducing her daughter to the world, Lauren Alaina shared a special treat with fans. She decided to release a new song she wrote dedicated to her daughter. She wrote that she wasn’t sure when she would release the song but came to a decision after her daughter’s birth.
”Watching my own husband become a father the last couple of days has made me want to share it with you now. She came just before Father’s Day. My first without my own father. A day that will forever be hard to me, but I now have a new and perfect reason to celebrate it,” she wrote.
