American Idol has launched the careers of many successful artists. The show premiered on Fox in 2002. Kelly Clarkson became a household name after winning the first season. In addition to a huge music career, she also hosts her own daytime talk show.

The Season 2 winner, Ruben Studdard, didn’t see Kelly Clarkson’s level of fame, but the Season 4 winner, Carrie Underwood, did. She has won countless music awards, including eight Grammys. She has a great gig performing the anthem for NBC’s Sunday Night Football. The “Before He Cheats” singer just wrapped up a Las Vegas Residency that ran for three years due to popular demand.

American Idol airs on ABC now. Singer Katy Perry served as a judge for seven seasons before leaving at the end of Season 22. The network recruited previous winner, Carrie Underwood, to take her place on the judging panel. She joined Lionel Richie and Luke Bryan as judges for Season 23. Some fans didn’t like her reaction to Jamal Roberts winning Season 23, but Carrie Underwood as judge was a huge hit in ratings. Now everyone is wondering if she’ll return for another season. An insider spilled one major thing that’s holding the singer back from signing on for Season 24, but why she’s not giving up on returning to the show just yet.

Carrie Underwood Considering Collaboration With One Of Country’s Hottest Artists

Carrie Underwood is always booked and busy. If she’s not judging singing competitions, she’s touring or hosting special TV events. But she’s always ready to add more to her plate. Insiders spilled to Life & Style that the singer is considering giving in to fans demanding she record a song with one of the hottest country artists today.

Jelly Roll made an appearance on the recent American Idol season as a mentor. He performed two of his hit songs, “Liar” and “Unpretty,” with the winner, Jamal Roberts. Now it seems Carrie Underwood wants a turn to duet with Jelly Roll.

“She’s such a fan of his music too, she thinks he’s so talented and loves how their voices sound together,” the source said.

She’s Not Giving Up On American Idol

While fans beg for Carrie Underwood to record a song with Jelly Roll, what they want even more is for her to return to American Idol. ABC already renewed the competition show for next year. But the judges for Season 24 are still undecided.

Fans worry that Carrie Underwood won’t return, but according to the insider, she really wants to. There’s one thing standing in her way: her family.

The source revealed that the singer, who has two children with husband Mike Fisher, struggles with missing her family. While Carrie Underwood is on tour or shooting American Idol, her husband and kids are at home in Tennessee.

“They FaceTime day and night and she flies home every spare moment she gets, but it’s not the same as just being there,” the insider spilled about what’s keeping Carrie Underwood from signing on for Season 24.

However, she really enjoys helping the up-and-coming singers on American Idol. “She loves working with the guys and the whole crew has been so great. Her biggest joy is helping the contestants through a really bewildering experience,” the source said.

So, it seems Carrie Underwood is torn between her family and a huge career opportunity. Do you think she’ll return for American Idol next season? Sound off in the comments.
