Gary has been addicted to food since he was a child. During his episode, it was revealed that he had reached over 200 pounds at the age of 10. His severe obesity affected his life, and he even dropped out of high school due to his condition. Fortunately, the My 600-Lb Life star sought Dr. Now’s help before it was too late. Gary committed to Dr. Now’s 1200-calorie diet. He also tried his best to become more physically active, even though he lost breath shortly after standing up. He has yet to qualify for bariatric surgery. But he was full of determination, even though he only lost 10 pounds by the end of his episode.

Gary Defies All Odds In New Weight Loss Update

Gary Hawkins recently took to FB to share new updates about his weight loss journey. The My 600-Lb Life star uploaded a video of himself being able to stand up more consistently. He still needs a walker to support himself, but it’s clear to see that he’s now even more determined to turn his life around. According to Gary, he wanted to thank God for everything, adding that he has finally made it to the bathroom alone. It is a huge accomplishment in his journey to regain his mobility.

He added, “At first I couldn’t get inside my bathroom but since I lost some weight around my waist area I am able to maneuver in easier.” Gary later said that he’s starting to walk now after being bedridden for three years. He continued, “God is amazing… This is only the beginning Stay tuned.”
