Country superstar Garth Brooks is facing sexual assault allegations after a former employee filed a suit against him. Rumors have flown about his marriage and whether or not it remains strong amid the allegations against him. However, in a new speech, Garth praised his wife and fellow country superstar Trisha Yearwood. What did he say and why? Keep reading to get all the details.

Garth Brooks Gushes Over Wife Trisha Yearwood

Country legend Garth Brooks recently took an opportunity to praise his hardworking wife Trisha Yearwood. On June 4, Garth had the opportunity to present an award. He presented Stacy Vee with the Executive of the Year award at Billboard’s Country Power Players event in Nashville.

He hasn’t been making public appearances very much, so this was one of the few. He took his moment in the spotlight and used it to praise his wife and a few other women in country music. Brooks is trying hard to salvage not only his marriage but his reputation as well.

When he was on stage before giving Vee her award, he said, “… I got about 90 seconds up here, so let’s just cut to the chase. Everything that is a blessing is a curse, and everything that is a curse is a blessing.”

He went on to say,

“The curse in this business, like so many businesses, a female needs to work a thousand times harder than a male to get a tenth as much as the male gets. That’s just how it is, always been. But the blessing on that, I think that’s what makes Dolly Parton, Dolly Parton. I think that’s what, and I was first-hand watching this, is what makes Reba McEntire, Reba McEntire.”

Garth continued and praised his wife, Trisha. He said she can’t be outworked. He said he’s married to one of the greatest singers across the board. He watches her work “a thousand times harder than me to get a tenth as much as they give me.”

Trying To Save Himself?

Garth Brooks fans think he was digging himself into a deeper hole while trying to save himself. Many were confused about all his rambling and praise, as he was simply supposed to present an award.

Was this is desperate attempt to get women back on his side?

Of course, he’s in the process of fighting claims from a former employee that he sexually assaulted her. He also allegedly sent dirty text messages and hinted about having a threesome with his wife.

Trisha Yearwood has continued to stand by her husband’s side. However, she has said in previous interviews that marriage is tough no matter what type of career someone has.

She and Garth have been living in this legal nightmare for months now. He has denied and continues to deny all the allegations stacked up against him.

What do you think about Garth’s rambling speech at the awards ceremony? Was he trying to make himself look good and help save his reputation?

Stay tuned for more updates.

  1. Those of us who have been following Garth and his career since the beginning, we’ve heard the blessing in the curse analogy before …
Anyone that is trying to draw any kind of slant to that that speech is just trying to grasp at straws. Garth has always said that women have to work 10 times harder to get the same amount of respect. It’s not a new comment, he’s not trying to “get women on his side. “. It simply is something he has said for years. If you can find it, I invite you to watch Garths documentary that was on A&E. You’ll hear him use that same concept of a blessing and a curse in other capacities too .
