Major Change To ‘Wheel Of Fortune’ Shocks Fans

Wheel Of Fortune: Ryan Seacrest

When it comes to a show like Wheel Of Fortune and its fanbase, change is rarely ever a good thing. However, a major change is coming to the program that is shocking fans. So, what is the latest update with the long-running game show, and what are viewers saying about it?

Wheel Of Fortune Fans Don’t Like Change

When popular game shows like Wheel Of Fortune come to mind, most people think of words like tradition and continuity. When game shows like these run for decades, generations of viewers get used to it, especially with how certain things are done. Because of this, many game show fans are resistant to change.

This was on full display when Wheel Of Fortune announced that Ryan Seacrest would be taking over hosting duties from Pat Sajak. Ryan has warmed up to some viewers over time. However, the initial reception was icy at best, and Seacrest has had to prove himself countless times to win some viewers over.

Major Change Coming To Popular Game Show

With everything that has changed with Wheel Of Fortune since Ryan Seacrest took over from Pat Sajak, the show recently announced that another major change is coming to the popular game show. Luckily, however, this upcoming change is one that undeniably moves things in a positive direction.

It turns out, based on the latest updates making the rounds, Wheel Of Fortune is officially coming to streaming platforms. According to a recent announcement from Sony Pictures, new episodes of the popular game show will be available on Hulu and Peacock starting in September.

Fans of Wheel Of Fortune have been asking for some time for the show to be available on popular streaming platforms, and, from the looks of it, fans won’t have to wait much longer until this becomes a reality.

Sony Pictures Television chairman Keith Le Goy recently said of this new development (which also includes Jeopardy!) “We are thrilled to bring America’s favorite game shows to an even wider audience on Hulu, Hulu on Disney+, and Peacock.”

Wheel Of Fortune fans, not surprisingly, had a lot to say about this new development, as it has been something that viewers have been asking for.

  • One recent commenter said, “As someone who has watched ‘Wheel of Fortune’ for at least 35 years of my life, I never thought this day would come, but it’s finally happening. Do you all think this is a sign that broadcast TV will soon come to an end? I still don’t think it will because ‘Dancing with the Stars’ streaming exclusively on Disney+ in 2022 didn’t work out as well as Disney hoped, and they brought it back to ABC the following year.”
  • Another commenter added, “Yes!!!!! Thank you. I switched to YouTube TV and the channel that has wheel isn’t there. Using a tablo has proved unreliable, the recordings the last month have been glitchy and unwatchable. So happy that finally, wheel will stream. Be much more accessible to people.”
