When Melissa Gilbert was last on When Calls The Heart Season 12, her character Georgie McGill and Jack Wagner’s Bill Avery had a steamy moment and some questions about their future. Could there be a romance? If so, the Little House On The Prairie actress needed to return to figure out if this busy couple could make it work. Firstly, she would need to return to Hope Valley.

Speaking to Hey Dude…The 90s Called, Gilbert revealed she is indeed returning!
She revealed that she will be headed to Vancouver, where they film the Hallmark series, “a bit more this year.” Best of all, she feels at home there. “When I go to Vancouver to the set, I walk. in and it’s this old town, you know? It feels crazy, there I am.”
It’s just like going home, it’s this strange and wonderful feeling, and I’m very excited to go back.
In addition, she spoke of why she chose the stiff type of attire that Georgie wears. “I made the decision to put my character in a corset for a myriad of reasons, none of which were smart, but it looks good. And the lace-up shoes, and just the whole vibe that I have going on there. And with my hair up, you know, carrying a little bit of the late 1800s in the early 1900s.”
Could Melissa Gilbert Be A Recurring Character In The Hallmark Series?
Without revealing too much about her upcoming When Calls The Heart Season 13 role, Melissa Gilbert shared, “I’ll be back and forth to Vancouver a bit more, I think, this year.”
That sounds like she could be in a recurring role. Because she said “a bit more,” it hints that she will be in the season more than the two episodes she was in during Season 12.
Certainly, new showrunner Joy Gregory will be sharing more about Georgie’s role in Season 13. Furthermore, Gregory has already hinted that Nathan and Bill will be dealing with something close to Hope Valley. Therefore, there could be a need for a forensic investigator and Georgie McGill may be the person they will need to get the bad guys out of Hope Valley.
